Well Albin took his headset off, despite having two timeouts.

Wish he took it off in the 1st half.

Some how I knew when we did not score any points out of the half this game would be the tale of 2 halfs. And it was!

And now the announcers are commenting on it.

How embarrassing.

I think it’s time to consider making Brian Smith the OC. He’s more than qualified and I would love to see us run the run and shoot. WE NEED TO STOP WITH THE CONSERVATIVE PLAY CALLING!!

We've had conservative play calling dating back to the Tettleton years. The staff do not let these talented QBs to flourish.

Offensive line has been poor this year. Ohio teams should be able run the ball on the MAC. We a couple of good backs. Too many penalties in key situations killing drives.

How was THIS the #1 offense in the MAC?

SOMETHING has to change.

They'll use 5-2 as cover, BUT they look like an awful 5-2.

As soon as NIU went up 1 point, I had a feeling it was over. 1 point 2nd half deficit they cannot overcome. The FG was the dagger. 4 points? Too much of a hill to climb for the dump and run offense.

Folks can come on here and beat the drum constantly about bad play calling. Perhaps they're correct sometimes. Not today. Play calling doesn't account for 3 straight interceptions, ot 7 penalties for 70 yards, or the 3 2nd half series that ended in punts because of makeable 3rd down conversions ending in incompletions.

Today was all about execution - and Ohio just didn't execute.

Disappointing? Very. End of the season? Obviously not. We have Miami at home. The margin for error just shrunk quite a bit.

Much depends on how well the coaches can refocus the team - both to execute and stop beating themselves.

And welcome back to Earth Bobcat fans. These games happen. I wasn't expecting a win today. Toledo brushed by BSU. The players and coaching staff have to regroup, and learn. I have no problem with that loss. Get a win vs. WMU next week. Nuf said.

I second this because if they do they have no business being on this team.

I could use a " fact-checker " I overhead the team bussed to Dekalb. That approximately 8ish hour ride. If they did, that is uncalled for. There is no reason we shouldn't be flying to that one?

Does this mean that Gameday will not be in Athens on October 28?

Hell has frozen over. We ran a play from under center.

And lost a half yard as I recall!

Put two mammoth lineman behind the QB (ala Penn State this season) take the snap and just push like hell. Much better than taking the snap and somewhat delaying at hitting the line as was the outcome.

Flew to San Diego and Florida. If the bus rumor is true, maybe that was why.

We usually crap at one game a year that we should win. This wasn't it. NIU is a good team and was hungry for a home win at homecoming. What's concerning about this game is (1) no second-half points and (2) unable to use the wind advantage. Just a first quarter FG with the wind. The only time we went deep with the wind we were intercepted. Without Jones we don't have a consistent deep threat. And the running game isn't dominant as it's been in the past. This has to change, quickly.

NIU's 23 pts were the most given up by Ohio so far this season. There might be only two or three games left on the schedule against teams that could top that. MOFO,CMU, maybe WMU. Problem is, Ohio has scored more than 23 only three times this year. The offense needs to start producing.

We can still win the division but just about need to win out. We still have three home games in the next five plus Buffalo (lost at home vs BG) and Akron on the road. We can afford maybe one more stumble, preferably against the West, but that's all. The next three games at least are must-wins.

We will get by.
We will get by.
We will get by.
We will survive.

What is our longest run from scrimmage by either of our 2 prime running backs this year? I think our inability to establish runs of what appears to be no more than 2-3 tough yards at a clip, coupled with the mind-numbing running the play clock to 0 on EVERY play is maddening. I can’t quite understand our logic in not taking advantage of Rourke typically not turning the ball over today not withstanding. Tough to establish momentum offensively when we seem hellbent to never change up the snap count and run the play clock to zero.

All that being said we just layed an egg all around today. Tip of the hat to the zHuskies play calling though. They had some nice wrinkles in the 2nd half.

I was there. God. I really should stop going to games. Bobcats are 1-8 when I am in attendance at football games since 2013.

This was effortless, pathetic, and inexcusable. I felt ok at halftime. We were up 13-7 getting the ball back. Then the second half from hell.

Rourke has not been good this year. He's off. I don't know if it's the injuries or what. But he's off. He's been effective running the ball but we didn't do any of that in the 2nd half.

What is our offense? Where are the deep shots and clever play designs? Is it an offensive line problem? Why is every Bangura run only 2 yds now?

Our defense and special teams were fine. This one is on the offense for completely wetting the bed. DeKalb is a house of horrors. We sleepwalked through this game and got smacked. I hope we learn and improve from this disaster. The MAC slate is going to be TOUGH if our offense can't live up to potential.

What a day at the Convo.....Wow!
