I don’t get how our offense fell off so far from last season. Are there players hurt of that we lost that attribute to it? Frustrating lost. Maybe can come to life late but I don’t see it. Miami missing their qb yet still able to rack up points on our high level defense meanwhile our offense is once again having a bad game.

The glacial pace of this offense paired with a soft-as-baby poo offensive line is like pulling teeth to watch. Just an awful experience watching our most talented QB get saddled with this system.

The offense is one thing, but look at all the big plays. We have given up the last three weeks.

It's been a bumpy ride up to this point but it's quite obvious that the wheels have fallen off.

You know what Albin is going to say in the presser..."we have a few things to clean up"...the only thing you need to clean up is to get a new offensive line because they are terrible and have regressed significantly from last year. Remember folks, this is nearly the same O-line from last year minus Meservy.

It really sucks because it felt like this was the year to make it happen with all that came back but unfortunately I feel like after the season the transfer portal will hit us hard.

As far as the actual game, what did we think would happen? If we got to the MAC Championship do you think we'd actually beat Toledo with the way we are playing? God, Imagine if Gabbert played in this game. Woof.

See you all in the Basketball threads. Thankfully the seasons overlap for a smooth transition for the yearly football disappointment.

So much for being unbeaten at Frank Solich Field.

Nothing's going our way today: too many damn penalties, a blocked extra point, a fumble inside our 10, and we can't even win booth reviews.

MOFO's remaining schedule has home games vs Akron and Buffalo and at BSU. The might lose one but not two, which is what Ohio needs for a shot at the MACCG. At least we won't be embarrassed again by Toledo in the MACCG.

There's a total solar eclipse in Ohio next year. Maybe that will get us the MAC championship we've waited for lo these many decades.

Embarrassing and flat performance. With all the weapons that this offense has makes me scratch my head. Reminds me of watching Zac Taylor trying to call his offense when Burrow was banged up. Sometimes I feel that both OCs get lazier and establish a lack of identity when there are so many weapons on the field.

As for the defense, so many missed tackles but they are gassed being on the field the entire game.

Special teams from head to toe have been awful. Blocked Extra Point, big punt returns, and jumping offsides on fourth down.

Uninspiring and undisciplined football. Time for Albin to be replaced by Nowinsky?

It all starts with the O line. We lost some key players there and the replacements haven't performed as well. I also think that Bangura and Allison aren't the players they were a year ago due to injuries from last season. The combination of the O line and the RBs has left us with a pretty impotent running game. It shows up on short yardage and not being able to dominate late in games. Rourke also seems to be out of sync with some of the newer receivers.

But we only lost Meservy on the O-Line? I just think they have regressed. I mean it's pretty sad when we can barely get a yard. Throw in the holding penalties and yeah, it's a mess. I'm surprised that Kurtis hasn't been sacked more this year.

The year we can get good offense and defensive play is year we win the MACC. It always feels like we have one but not the other. Last year good offense bad defense this year the opposite. Farther back same problem. Think just need to get lucky one year where timing lines up and we get both performing at a high level.

We're just stretching for excuses at this point.

OU's current top EIGHT receivers all returned.

What about our run game looks like it could produce any yards? Delayed hand-off up the middle on 2nd and long or delayed hand-off up the middle on 3rd and long? What about delayed hand-off up the middle on 1st down?

When all of us sitting at home on our computers mocking the easily diagnosed play calls, you bet your ass every DC can too.

Time for Rudolph and Isphording to "retire". The pulled the trigger last year and picked up Nowinski. Time to do the same on the offensive side. Too bad we wasted a stacked team on the way to coming to that realization.

Timmy got lucky when his good friend had to retire so close to the season starting. If Frank retired immediately following his last season, I don’t think we are sitting here even discussing Timmy getting this job and not knowing the rules. He got the HC job handed to him because Ohio had its hands tied with the timing of Frank’s announcement. Not gonna be a fun ride with Timmy moving forward.

We also lost the Luehrmans at tight end, who were decent blockers. I think Meservy pretty much held the line together.

On the other side, I thought Miami drew up an incredible gameplan for Smith, played to his strengths. Kudos to Chuck Martin.

Both of the Luehrmans graduated in 2021.

Every TE returned from last season.

Even with no Gabbert, and us having two former Miami coaches we still couldn't figure out how to win LOL

The penalties are a concern, we've had like +7 penalties in the past 4 or 5 games. That's simply a lack of discipline

This was a repeat of the SDSU fiasco. Fall behind and then throw out the entire game plan immediately. Yes, Rourke went down in SD but Harris was handcuffed by the play calling. #7’s turn today.

M#@&$ was better but not as much as the score indicated.
