Checking online looks like:
Bonnstetter
Boland
Murray

If I could only have three they would be the three. Gdowski and Dixon get to bring Murray and Boland into the offense. Vick gets to become buds with Murray like TT with Foster. Check the link. Murray will help right away. Daz, Murray and Cochran are playmakers. Who becomes the possession receiver, Landon Smith or a TE???

Since one of the posters here had been warning us that Murray wouldn't be eligible yet, that's great news on him. Any word on whether his old high school team mate, Windham, will be returning to Ohio? It would be nice to have both together at last.

Too bad Clark won't make it for Winter conditioning and Spring ball. That may put him behind in the fall.

I did find out WR Spencer Schnell is enrolled this semester. Due to NCAA transfer rules he will be redshirting, but have 4 years to play.

I talked to my contact in Indiana and he sent me some links. Here they are:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8Gqdy98-eY

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MTBG7XmRu1A

again his HUDL account has this as his senior highlight:
http://www.hudl.com/athlete/o/264885/spencer-schnell

he coached against the kid and said he went for 18 catches 295 yards and 3 TD's against the state runner up in the largest class in Indiana.. said he's a 4.6 kid. HUDL had him at 101-1448-11 receiving. Not a TALL WR and we did miss out on Roger Lewis, but he seems like he's a playmaker.

My question is, is it true that Greg Windham is back? If so, how do you guys see him playing out in the long term? Obviously Vick's job to lose.

That's assuming he's Christopher B. Murray.

I can't imagine Windham coming back. He had already slipped behind Sprague on the depth chart.

I am confused here. If he walked on at BG last fall, he'd have to redshirt this fall, but only have 3 years left, wouldn't he, under the 5 year max? If he didn't enroll at BG, why would he have to redshirt?

Ted, I looked in the Ohio online directory, and I do find Boland, Bonnstetter, Schnell, and yes, Greg K Windham, but I don't find Murray (nor Clark).

Edit: nvm, if I limit the search to students, Murray shows up, but not if I search everyone.

I guess Windham could be back. It could explain why Ohio hasn't signed a JUCO QB. There is no way you can go to Fall Camp with 2 scholarship QBs (one a true freshman).

Macht Schnell:  The phrase "macht schnell" is an imperative and means hurry up or make it happen

Here's hoping he lives up to his last name and takes that offense along for the ride!!

Misinformation. For my part, I am sorry. Still, I remain excited about spring practice. I believe the Bobcats continue the march on bigger, stronger and faster.

Murray should really be moved to the list of 2015 Recruits, then. I gather he redshirted last year, and will arrive with 2 years to play 2?

IF he redshirted last year, he should have his Associate's Degree and be ready to transfer to FBS as a 2014 sophomore (like Time Edmond). All of the recruiting services list him as 2014. The only thing I can figure is that he didn't get the classroom stuff done.

He may have also delayed a year before enrolling. In that case, he wouldn't have used a redshirt last year because he wouldn't have been enrolled at all. If he delayed a year before enrolling, he would come in 2015 with 3 years to play 2 because his five year clock wouldn't have started until this year.

This came back in a Google search and refers to him as a redshirt freshman. I don't have a Scout subscription to get the full article.

Yikes. We can't out-recruit the other guys, so we have to take these crazy risks (Murray, Clark, Rogers, Lewis, Kenny Ashley, Kozak).

And it NEVER works out.

Is there money in the budget to hire Jerry Tarkanian as a consultant? He managed to execute this strategy quite effectively.

Ernie Hodge may be the one exception i can think of right off the bat. Tim Edmond - too early to tell.

McCleod is a starting DT, Mr Prior and Mr Roback worked out. Beau and his 3,000 yards could be considered as working out. Tyler Knight was critical in the Independence Bowl. Mr Branz and Mr Waters worked out. Paul actually knows all this, not sure why we are going thru this drill.

bcat, he's not talking about JUCOs, he's talking about marginal academic qualifiers. I think that saying "never" is a bit harsh, but it is true that the success rate hasn't been great. The list of players that didn't work out is long, actually longer than Paul's list, and not all with the same result. Some never arrived. Others came, but didn't stay. Others came after a year in prep school, or two years in Juco.

Players that Never Arrived (fails) - Robert Hightower, Vince Harris, Brad Spivey, Jeffrey Hutchinson, Kenny Ashley, Mike Roberts
Players that did qualify, but didn't stay long (mixed/fails) - Gary Fortune, Pete D'Aguanno
Players that qualified late (successes) - Lechner for sure, and there have been others
Players that did qualify after a year of Prep School (successes) - Robert Mercer, Vince Davidson, Chris Garrett
Players that did qualify after 2 years of Juco (successes) - Omar Leftwich, Octavious Leftwich, Tim Edmond, Kadre Pinder (but didn't stay long)

So, there have been some successes, too, notably Davidson,  Garrett, Lechner, and the Leftwiches, and it's too early to tell on Murray, Clark and Edmond at this point. I am drawing a blank on the name "Rogers" that Paul lists, though.

The one thing that I think Paul misses is that I think they expect and plan for this, so it isn't really "a failure", it is an intentional thing. Say they have 24 available scholarships, and they have a couple they would like to award to walkons. They take 24 verbals, knowing a couple won't qualify, and then give those 2 to the walkons, then hope to get the non-qualifiers back later as a Juco. The alternative would be to just give 22, and skip the non-qualifiers. The way they are doing it isn't the only way it can be done, but it is pretty common, I think.

Where they have done exceptionally well in this area is where they have recruited directly from Prep schools such as Fork Union and Hargrave. The list of those successes is long, and the list of failures is few:
Fork Union Graduates - Mark Parson, Skyler Allen, Jamil Shaw, Jelani Woseley
Hargrave Graduates - Ernie Hodge, Horrace Hubbard, Tyrell Basham, Kyle Kozak

OK. though, it seems he is attempting to cherry pick a point to cover his opening negative (big surprise) that the staff "can't out-recruit anyone." I don't have time to debate that though (big surprise) I believe the staff has recruited well.

I did some digging.... he left during summer camp, never attended a class, received a full release from BGSU. Per NCAA rule he must sit out as he was a transfer student because he attended at least one day of camp and will redshirt leaving him with 4 years to play. Fuzzy on anymore details than that.

Windham is huge IMO, definitely need another QB.
