I got so into the groove of ESPN+ that I just avoided my phone and did family stuff intending to watch around 9:30 on demand reply as I often do for roadies. Was devastated when I realized it was on CBS Sports and I did not set it to record. So did not get to see this one.

Just to piss Billy off, I will complain that Clayton only shot 2 pointers to his 13 3 point attempts...but boy was he hitting them last night. We thought Jaylin's shot was figured out but it has went a little cold again. In my mind his shooting will be a huge part to how far we go in Cleveland. Also I will begrudgingly acknowledge Hadaway is 3 for his last 4 from 3, but think that's a product of being more selective.

Also appears we were crushed on rebounding but made up for it in shooting and turnovers.

When we sat at 1-3 who had us ending up 12-5 going into the final game? We have as good of a chance as anyone. I would expect us to be favored against Akron at this point and maybe 2-3 point underdogs with Toledo.

Ha -- I'll still +1 the two 2PA's for Clayton. I just think he could be elite with a more balanced approach but he was on last night from 3.

It's been a pretty remarkable turnaround, especially with AJB going down and EJ4 still not looking like himself. We're winning all different ways.

If Jaylin finds the stroke he had against Akron and Reef/Clayton continue theirs, this is a dangerous team in Cleveland. After some rough patches, can't help but feel good about this team heading into the final week of MAC play.

Sad state of affairs in the MAC may be right on. How can Akron lose at home on Senior Night to a bottom feeder? Is there a byline here like Freeman and Ali resting? I don’t think there are many 21.5 point dogs who win during a season. This might be one of the only ones. Probably like a $5000 return on $10.

And Toledo just annilating Miami in Oxford. I am surprised the Mercy Rule wasn’t implemented. If they had left their starters go a bit longer they could have won by 50. I am sure Miami isn’t interested in playing at home on Friday. Or maybe some secret strategy to get OU to not take them seriously? Don’t think I would have gone to that extreme though.

When Clayton was interviewed after the game by the CBS guy and was asked about Cleveland, he said their only focus right now would be Friday night vs Fiami; then after that they could think about Cleveland.

Sweeping Fiami would be a wonderful thing. I'm all for it.

It would have been easy for our boys not to take this team seriously, but no way as they came out from the tip to take control.
As a 4 game winner this year, and only 2,100 fans watching, Buffalo did play the entire game and did not mail this one in.

I don't want to be that guy. I'm happy that the math says we have a 40-1 or so shot at a MAC co-championship since Akron lost as as 21.5 point favorite. But I have to add that the fact that we are still alive in that with 1 game left says more about the sad state of MAC basketball than it does the strength of Ohio basketball. I haven't gone back and looked but if that were to happen I have to believe that we would be the least impressive champion in MAC history and given how Akron looks lately and the nature of 1 and done tournaments someone with an even lesser resume than Ohio might be in the NCAA Tournament. Seeing the MAC on the 16 line would be a tough pill to swallow.

If the MAC Champion is not Akron, Toledo or Ohio...I think the team that survives would be no worse than a 15.

I just looked a few days ago at a Bracketology, and they had Akron as the likely MAC qualifier on the 14 line against 3 seed Duke.

The champion being a 14 certainly doesn't bode well for the lower seeds. It depends almost entirely on how many upsets there are in other tournaments but given the usual number and the types of rankings that teams on each line have - Akron and Toledo might be able to get on the 13 line but also maybe not. We would almost certainly be a 14. CMU is maybe a 14 but easily could be a 15. I think Kent, and BG hopefully could avoid the 16 line but probably Miami wouldn't. Ball State is very, very likely a 16. Hope and pray they avoid playing in. They might not. WMU would almost certainly play in.

Can't believe this hasn't already been discussed concerning the Buffalo game. But Chaos dunking off the backboard pass and then hanging on the rim for the "T" is the true definition of #CaptainChaos

Dude is a chaotic menace and glad he's got Ohio across the chest.

Watching the replay, it looked like he was trying to readjust himself for a softer landing. That T was pretty weak.

I don’t know how to plan for Fridays game against Miami. We are playing a team that got smoked by a Toledo team with 19! turnovers. 19 turnovers and still win by 30+. And could have won by 50.

Don’t know quite what to expect from Miami. Players cold be benched for the previous fiasco. Both teams recognize that this could be a prelude to another game next week. 3 vs 6. Is blowing out Miami by 20 a good thing? Or is a close game or Miami win a bad thing? This game means very little to either team other than pride.

All a mystery to me. The most important thing is winning next Thursday. If Boals thinks getting Hunter and James and Shelton right for next week, then I am fine. If he thinks a blowout is the order of the day, then I am also fine. Let’s keep the eye on the prize.
