What was the OC of MIzzou thinking. Call plays to score not to run out the clock and oh by the way, let's score. Unbelievable!

My teenage son and I were having the same conversation. With over a minute to go and against one of the worst pass defenses in 1A, they started running the ball like they were setting up for a field goal even though they were down by five points. Don't know what they were thinking.
