Don't see Danny getting another shot anytime soon.

Funny that Tim has all but retired and yet, his job prospects live on...

Wake Forest hasn’t been worth a damn since the untimely death of Skip Prosser. Somewhat surprising Wake chose this time (reduced revenues due to pandemic). Widely rumored here in a North Carolina Wake couldn’t afford to dump Manning due to his supposed 11 million dollar buyout when the economy here was beyond roaring. Don’t disagree with his getting the axe, just surprised it’s now during this massive time of uncertainty.

This, plus the fact that he could have more job interviews in a week than most of us have in a lifetime.

If Wake is buying out Mannning for 11M at ANY point, let alone now, don't ask me for a nickel if I'm an alumnus.

Bro, it's the alumni who pay for the buyouts.

That may be true. Still, don't ask me for a nickel. That 11M should be doing something better than lining a coaches pocket. Who would be the idiot that ponies up for that?

Only reason I would assume is that they are going to get a coach for a heck of a lot cheaper than what Manning was making. Why roll the dice on someone making $5 mill a year when you could go younger and have a shot at filling the building? I mean no reason to pay someone to suck for $5 mill a year when you could roll the dice on being potentially better and fill the arena if they get good.

If they have money to buy out a coach, no matter the source of the money or whether it's 111k or 11M, they don't need my money.

+1

This was almost as surprising as your humble correspondent making a comment about the Civil War in any thread where there was even a slight connection, or one that he could manufacture. ;-)

Why? Are you so bitter and closed-minded you wouldn't donate because you don't like how other people spend their money? Who are you to say that?

If someone thinks it’s a good idea to pay a coach 11m to walk away, if that is even true, you’re right, it’s none of my business. However, since I have a choice in how I spend my money, when I see, in my opinion such waste, I decide they don’t need my money. Their priorities and mine do not align.
