With Springs gone it appears we have 3 openings. That's a good sign as we had too many guys in the class of '23.
We probably will never know whether it was Boals who told Springs to move on or his own choice.
Like I have said many times, we need a big banger in the middle as this was a weak spot on D for us last year.

Good news for Springs is the team lists no centers and only two returning forwards. One of them is coming off a season-ending injury.

Bad news is, they went 1-28 in the low major ASun.

They did add a four-star and two three-star freshmen for the upcoming season, plus two other freshmen. Top 50 recruiting class:

I expected he might leave UNC - that was until Cole Anthony, a PG in his same class, declared for NBA draft.
Francis committed to UNC in his sophomore year and then didn't play a game his jr. and sr. seasons at Pick North due to injury.

I thought that his h.s. teammate Sterling Manley was a better candidate to transfer from NC.

You can bet the house that if Francis says he wants to be Bobcat, there will be a spot found for him. Wouldn't be an easy conversation, but as it's been discussed, there are those on the team that will not be seeing a lot of the floor this coming season.

Probably, but taking on two transfers would be tough. You're basically telling the team we've only got 11 scholarship guys to use in games this coming season and with the injury luck we've had, it's a risk. Could be great in the long run, but rough short term.

They still have a May 20th date set to vote on the new one-time transfer rule. It most likely will pass. Anybody that hasn't enrolled yet and hasn't transferred before will be immediately eligible.

As to only having 11 players next year....they don't have that many that will get playing time now.

If healthy I see a rotation of McDay, Roderick, Preston, Miguel, BVP, Foster, Brown, Towns, White with Granger and Murrell fighting for a spot and McMurray out. He was our 12th man this year.
