Tommy Freeman please. I think he could be an asset recruiting the midwest and helping shooters among other things.

He did. While the article you link does show Kent lost the lawsuit against Bradley, it won the lawsuit against Ford himself and Geno is still on the hook for the full buyout.

He could not have handled his departure from Kent much worse. He didn't meet with his players or even tell them he was leaving. He just walked out the door and let them find out via the news. I don't think they ever heard from him.

He sure can clap on the sidelines, though.

I couldn't find anything that said he's on the hook for the full buyout. If anything, the article exonerates him and Kent is the one appealing now?

I didn't know about his alleged ghost-ing at Kent with his players. Didn't see anything reported on that ... so that surprises me. Do you hear that first hand?

Just love how some of you all knows when someone is old enough and ready to recruit and be an assistant coach, its pretty damn funny. Take Tommy Freeman for instance, sure Tommy is young, but Tommy has LIVED Ohio Basketball, he knows the game inside and out, great 3 point shooter, probably has the most charges taken in a career, he would be a great addition to the coaching staff, Oh and as far as recruiting let Tommy pull up the video at a recruiters house where he buries a 3 against Fiami in the closing seconds to win the game in front of about 10,000 fans plus upsetting Georgetown. Tommy Freeman would be a great addition.

Tommy is an avid hunter and part of a local group of hunters that make hunting videos. Would be nice to see him back in Athens so I can watch more of the hunting and fishing shows on Youtube. Some very very good stuff.

Last three paragraphs. It's not as clear as it could be it's referring to a separate case:

"Ford failed to settle the matter, so KSU sued Ford for his $1.2 million buyout, as well as Bradley for allegedly interfering in Ford’s contract. KSU won its initial lawsuit after Enlow ruled in its favor, and Bradley was dropped from the suit, with the understanding that KSU could still sue if Ford didn’t pay the judgement.

The case against Ford continued through the appeals process, and was upheld by the 11th District Court of Appeals. The Ohio Supreme Court later declined to hear the case.

As that process continued, KSU re-filed its claim against Bradley and a new one against Ford, the one on which Enlow recently ruled and which KSU has appealed. Bradley U, meanwhile, terminated Ford’s contract and is paying him only $350,000 annually, according to Enlow’s ruling. His salary is being garnished so he can continue paying KSU the $1.2 million he owes, Kentwired.com reports."

Oh yeah. Not even a secret among Kent fans. If you wanted to stir up some bad feelings, you could go over to their board and ask them about it.

You're mistaken if you believe a recruit wants to hear how great an assistant coach used to be. They want to hear the coach tell them how great THEY are.

This is only part of the story. He had a fairly new AD who was all-in on football and wanted to cut Ford's recruiting budget. Then, when Ford found the other job, he was told to get out of the building and barred from speaking with any players.

Billy this topic here is way out of your league sooooo don't even go there because you have absolutely NO clue about it.

You're right ... the article is damn confusing. I mis-read it and thought the appeal was because Ford was off the hook.

I've always liked Geno ... knew him during my time at OU when we overlapped a few years ... and he's an Ohio Valley guy. Nothing wrong with that!

I always thought he'd be good in a return to Athens .... but that's just my opinion. Seems others have theirs. It's cool.

^^^^^ I'd take one of the two of them on staff. There's a Hargrave connection already, so maybe that could work for Tommy? Time will tell.

Is this what the board has become? A person speaks positively about what he likes regarding a player, coach or program and he gets this type of private message? I have taken NO pot shots at anyone here! I am an avid hunter, do lots of deep sea fishing, and have an 8' Atlantic Sail and a 14pt deer on my wall to prove it. I am not sure what the issue or problem here is, but mods please tell me where I have insulted anyone here or disparaged anyone here at all and I'll gladly leave. As a footnote, I would like Tommy on this staff, but I guess that deserves hate mail. The sincerest form of flattery!

Dude if you wanna back pedal that's on you, we're talking about coaching and him coming back to Athens has NOTHING to do with hunting, he hasn't been part of the group for a few years because he is focused on coaching that's his dream plus he has his own video equipment he doesn't need to come to Athens to use it. lol Tommy being an avid hunter has nothing to do with coming back to Athens dude.

Tommy is an avid hunter and part of a local group of hunters that make hunting videos. Would be nice to see him back in Athens so I can watch more of the hunting and fishing shows on Youtube. Some very very good stuff.

I know what you are getting at and I could careless about that, before you go running your mouth, get the story straight, Tommy has been out of the fold for a few years now, since he's been a Grad Assistant, your so in to the video's on youtube look at the dates. Billy this topic here is way out of your league sooooo don't even go there because you have absolutely NO clue about it.

Dude, seriously, I am an avid hunter, I like the videos. You may want to get over yourself! Please show me where I said or did anything wrong.

And again you run your mouth without thinking, posting that about Tommy and hunting was totally uncalled for, don't use Tommy to take pop shots at me, shoot at me directly by name I like it that way, fuels my fire, Tommy has taken time off to concentrate on coaching, sure he hunts some but nothing like he did while he was in college, Its all about coaching, that's his dream, hunting is a hobby, While Tommy was in college his mother passed away, as you know his father Tom living in Muncie and not being able to comfort Tommy during this difficult time, well Tommy and my family grew very close, he was actually with us when he got the call he needed to return to Muncie ASAP to see his mother, he was like another son to me, hell after he graduated college he moved in with our family until he went to England to play and lived with us in the off season till he went back. Tommy is more than just a friend to my family, he is a big part of our family, Tommy knew I hunted and he never did, but always wanted to learn, so I taught him, Tommy used hunting to fill a little void and it helped keep his mind off the death of his mother along with getting him away from basketball and college life for some peaceful time, Tommy would be a great addition to any coaching staff, if its Ohio or somewhere else, Tommy's a teacher of the game and a knows the game. he's young and a go getter, that's the kind of Assistant Coaches you want on a staff.

I miss Tommy sure, am I a little bias probably. but this is not about hunting at all, its all about a young man chasing a dream and fulfilling it, the hunting was there to help fill a void and give him some happiness. maybe you understand this and maybe not.

Ask Tommy if he'd rather coach or hunt lol we both know that answer Have a good evening Billy

Dude, seriously, where did I disparage or say anything negative about Tommy? You have some issues developing, some real anger type issues. If I was on here saying anything negative about Tommy I might understand, but you are making zero sense. I would be supportive of this hire, and yet you want to bash at me? And send threatening private messages? This is bizzare!

but what do I know. I'm just a dumb rich hick that hunts, has no education and knows nothing.

Again playing the "no education" card? I guess it has been a month or two since the last time. Getting kind of old, Gman, seeing that you're the only one that brings it up.

Awwww bobcatsquared some of your posts get old also but I just get a big kick out of some on here that think their shit don't stink because they have a college degree, well let me tell ya, you don't need one to be successful, you make your own success.

Who uses their education to defend the quality of their posts? Again, you're the only one who brings this up. Personally, I couldn't care less.
