I am just so dejected at our DBs. I thought we were supposed to have that as a strength? Hagan was toast last week. Hudson is non-existent. Nelson is regressing. You are correct. Burrow only pays attention to athleticism. Our DBs as you see, have plenty of it. But as far as tackling and overall football player ability, no. This whole Bobcat Attack has Javon Hagen as the next coming of God and maybe even going early to the draft. The kid is a raw natural athlete, but the young man misses more tackles by poor technique and being out of position. If you notice, he is also a personal hype machine and Bobcat Attack fell for his self promotion and getting over excited when making routine plays. How many times can a DB be happy that a receiver drops a ball even though you are out of position. That’s just plain stupid. Burrow needs to wake up and play football players in the secondary, not just fast guys.

Very true, unfortunately

Nobody despises to lose more than I do. That's got me into trouble over the years, but it also made a man of mediocre ability into a pretty good coach. Woody Hayes

Allen is so right, on one TD run by the UC back #7 took a terrible angle and swung and missed the tackle. And, as the deep safety does he ever get behind the last receiver and react to the ball? I know we put DBs on an island but safeties are out there for a reason.

Maybe this is covered in another thread, but it seems appropriate here. I just read Arkley's blog and he said that UC scored a touchdown every time it drove inside the Ohio 40???

Trying to think back on the game, I don't think I can dispute that fact. But...really? How is that possible, and how bad is that? I mean, it would be a bad stat if they scored a touchdown every time inside the 20, but inside the 40???

I know I'm getting carried away with the question marks here, but it's hard not to be dumbfounded by that stat.

This defense is that bad. Just atrocious.

Another stat is that after the first quarter, UC converted 5-5 on 3rd downs of 7 yards or more. In the first quarter, Ohio stopped UC on third and 7, 10, and 20.
