It is the biggest loss in a MAC game since the 76-40 loss at Eastern Michigan on Jan. 27, 2015.

It is the biggest home loss since losing to Kentucky 95-58 on Dec. 30, 1997.

As far as I can tell, Ohio has never lost a MAC home game by more than last night. The previous worst loss was 83-50 to Central Michigan during the 79-80 season.

I was there that night. The traffic coming into town for the game was at a standstill and UK fans took over the Convo. It was awful in every way imaginable. And, ironically, I overheard a UK fan continually complain about the lack of a scoreboard.

The exchange at the 15:00 mark is very interesting.

Really starts at about the 14:00 mark with Arkley's question.

I did like Doug's play tonight, and also his comments here (Gollon & Taylor Post Game) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4kWvPsaRpDc

Did I really hear Saul say "we've been pretty good"? Umm.....no....not true.

According to every source that I've checked - our website, CBS Sports, ESPN, this is the fourth game this year that no one attended. No attendance posted anywhere.

He said "we've been pretty good" in reference to running the offense. Not overall play. I was at the NIU game and the offense was really good for 75 to 85% of the game. When run correctly, his offense is very beautiful. Lots of passes and off-ball screens and movement. If you jack up shots after 1 or 0 passes, any offense looks bad.

Last night was a total crap show. It was depressing, horrible, or whatever you want to say about it. I am mad, but lets at least kill him accurately. There is enough there without taking his comments out of context.

He probably meant like earlier in the year (Charleston, WKU, Marshall, etc.)

After listening to Saul’s post-game comments did I hear Saul correctly repeating “ I need the bench to play better.” Well I think the starting line up has to deliver and if they can’t, sub out and play your bench players more than 1-10 mins. The limited amount of time the bench is on the floor the game is already lost. We have struggled with managing players minutes all season. Not a good idea to blame the bench for this devastating loss. Better rotations needed and knowing the opponent and match ups. Ball movement is also needed to create open shots. Use timeouts immediately when the team is not running the offense correctly. Lack of leadership evident.

One counter to this: we don't see practice. I don't think he's blaming the bench due the loss. I think he's saying the bench isn't pushing for additional minutes the way he wants them to.

And you can't use timeouts every time a team isn't doing what the coach wants. There are only 4 per game, as I assume you're aware.

Lack of leadership....Well, it's easy to say that when $#it hits the fan after really a bad loss. Let's see how the next 3-4 games go. I'm not sure we'd have said that a year ago after this team pulled things together after the loss of the reigning MAC Player of the year.

Actually it's six for non-televised game. Not sure if ESPN3 counts as televised or not.

I don't know where they got it from, but I heard the Toledo radio guys saying at the end of the game that the attendance was listed at just over 6,000. They said that number was high (of course) but they were impressed nonetheless based on it being the first day back for students and the bad road conditions and suggested the real attendance probably was between 3,000 and 4,000.

Dating back to the start of MAC play (mid 40s), Ohio's biggest loss of any kind was the 98-41 thumping by Kansas in 2010. Ohio's two worst MAC losses, on the road, both were in the 97-98 season. One was a 106-57 loss to Ball State and the other was an 85-47 loss to Northern Illinois.

On the other side of things, Ohio's biggest win in that time frame was a 105-25 victory against Marietta in 1946-47. There were a couple other massive routs of West Virginia Wesleyan and Marietta, while the biggest win against a Division I school was a 110-57 home victory against Long Island in the 2001-02 season. Ohio's biggest road victory was a 122-70 victory at MacMurray in the 1966-67 season. Ohio's biggest MAC road victory was an 84-48 win at Central Michigan in 1994.

If their announcers think there were 3 or 4,000 there, their vision is worse than the 6040 attendance listed in the box score.

I sold my season tickets, 3 rows up behind the bench in the lower bowl for $100 a piece to UK fans. And that was the late 90’s.
