I agree with L.C., I liked the Russell ones better. But, just like on the Russell jerseys I think the "Ohio" is too small.

Glad that the look is really the same and that the Cats are not trotting out some new adidas template that doesn't really go with our tradition of a more classic/basic look. A lot of adidas schools have been using that subliminated texture/pattern like the East Mississippi CC team wears if you watch Last Chance U. These new Ohio unis appear to just be a basic mesh fabric. Could take or leave the arch Ohio at the collar. Like it on the pant.

Some special concept uniform will probably be rolled out for a game later this year. Maybe for Miami since it is going to be played on Halloween night?

I've been intrigued that Adidas doesn't feature a 3 striped design on the pants to match their brand but I would guess they want to honor the schools they work with wishes. We've had the two white (or green) stripes running down the sides of the pants since at least the late 90s.

Initial Russell design didn't have pant strips at all. The minimal pant striping we had was added recently (last couple years I think?). I thought it was a nice touch as the plain pants are too... plain.

At least we've seemed to commit to a "look."

Now that you mention that I do remember the plain pants. Too many of my football visuals are drawn from the early 2000s when we were with adidas initially. The profile picture Valley Cat uses of Chad Brinker running is the home uniform my brain defaults to. = )

A 3-Stripe design is actually an NCAA violation of logo size. Adidas tried this 20 years ago and it was costly for them.

When are we going to get some decent stuff from Adidas?

They had some basic shirts in the stores as of last week, but not a single pair of men shorts. While I generally lean towards Nike, I want the official sponsor stuff.

On another note, does anyone think there is some real lack of creativity with stuff to purchase at the stores in Athens? It seems like Etsy is the better place to shop these days if you want something for the house.

I agree that the selection in Athens can be underwhelming for things around the house but it's probably because the main customer base is students who maybe would throw up a flag in their dorm room but that's about it as far as decorations etc.

I have my eye on getting one of these for Athens:

Put "Ohio Bobcats" into Etsy. A lot of stuff along those lines out there.
