Why would anyone have doubted that? We played in CBI last season. Hosted two games that were relatively well attended. There's little doubt that we could have gotten if we had wanted to. It appears the team just didn't have the proper "mind set" to continue.

I guess some people still exist out there that like to operate off facts rather than speculation and assumptions.

A line like this is simply asinine.

Where the hell do you get off implying that this team is too mentally insufficient to be able to entertain your pathetic ass?

Honestly, it's crap like this that makes me feel weak for typing this web address into my browser.

God it's gone to shit around here.

Me too. Feels like the right call.

Ditto for me. These young men have been in some sort of organized practice/preseason/season mode since when, October? They've been reduced to 7-8 players for literally the last 2 months. They've pretty much played most of the conference season without Campbell. How much more are they supposed to go through? What are they going to learn about each other playing in a meaningless tournament in empty arenas that they didn't already learn playing the MAC conference season and the MAC Tournament together? These young men don't need more playing time; they need rest, they earned it.

Regardless of the reason we are not playing in the post season, so our basketball season is over.

Twenty win season not too shabby.

Time to move on to football.

Pretty sure that was just an ode to Larry Hunter's notorious line. This was to Hunter as "life on the road" was to TOS.

Either way - tell us how you REALLY feel. Geesh.

It's just like any other message board I'm on. I feel like there's resentment that it's not as GWC heavy/dictated anymore from some (which of course is going to happen over time). This board has always been super tame compared to other boards, though.

It continues to amaze me at how much power some people think the Green and White Club had. We were a social organization that provided a great tailgate experience for minimal cost, hosted and paid for the annual senior recognition banquet, endowed a scholarship for deserving athletic department volunteers, and with the help of various sports teams put over a half a million dollars into the budgets of olympic sports teams. Nobody ever called us to see if a coach should be hired or fired or what we wanted the logo to be.

I'm glad to see that someone understands my satire and attempts at humor. Yes, I was engaging in Hunter speak in a humorous way. At least I thought it was humorous.

Exactly, Pete and Al. Let me add that the GWC was a VOLUNTEER organization that put in a lot of time.

Arkley's piece last night did a great job summarizing Ohio's situation. Not only did we lose Campbell and not only did Carter (and Dartis) take on a Herculean load but this team was also down Gollon, Wadley, and Khari. Add in lingering (small) injuries to KK and Taylor. Seems very reasonable to me to skip anything that isn't the NCAAs or NIT this year.

What a day at the Convo.....Wow!

I agree with Alan et al on this. GWC folks were servant leaders who invested tons of time in the athletic programs, not power brokers. I enjoyed the years I was involved.

I've never understood the vitriol directed at the G&W C. Thought they put on a hell of a tailgate especially for alums coming from a distance and dragging food, beverages, appliances and the such was not convenient. Knowing that it was made up of dedicated volunteers I think they earned our thanks and appreciation, not our scorn.
