Yeah.. ESPN3 is blacked out at my place. I have Nelsonville TV Cable and it's not on any of the other channels.. That sucks.

I downloaded Tune-In Radio on my phone so I could listen at work. Sloppy game on both sides. Except Laster. He's the only one keeping the Cats in this game.

This would be a great win, let's close this game out.

Giving the other team second and third chances at points comes back to haunt us again.

Not sure what happened at the end? A little scrapping in the handshake line?

Oh well. Finish strong against Buffalo and Miami.

Blowing another double digit lead yet again. Biggest positive I saw is that Laster needs to be starting going forward.

Yeah I've never seen a team so awful with a lead late. Like, really bad. We get so passive on both ends of the floor.

I expected a tough loss - and that's what we got. Of course I didn't expect to crap a double digit lead away in the final 10 minutes.

We slipped back into the same bad habit of losing focus midway through the 2nd half. Kent State simply tried putting a little pressure on Jaaron, which we failed to easily exploit. Any number of players could have helped Jaaron and when pressured, merely dish the ball inside to Jason or Kenny for an easy basket.

There is nothing complex about this, and yet we reverted back to an old bad habit. Simply put, we play the way we played the last 4 games and the sky is the limit for how our season ends. We play the way we did in the 2nd half tonight (and for too many games this year) and our season could be one and done in the MAC tournament.

Tonight showed what we have learned about Saul. He sometimes is waaay too loyal to cold players. Dartis gave us virtually NOTHING tonight and Laster was TOUGH. Why easnt Mike out there more than Jordy? DT was as good as cold JC. Why not more Doug?

Laster sat with 2 fouls in the first half, and sat again when he got his 3rd and 4th.

Every hot hand picked up a foul that benched them tonight.

I'm not up on how all of this works but why would you have a blackout in the markets that would be most interested in watching this game?

I'm not up on all of this either, but isn't what you posted exactly the point? They want people in the market that want to watch the game to buy the cable channel. The game isn't blacked out in northern california because 99% of those people don't care?

A million things went wrong in addition to horrible shooting and we lost by 3 on the road. It was sucky and Uber frustrating, but file it away and come back to finish strong this week.

I couldn't watch and only got home in time to listen to the last minute on the radio. Can anyone describe the officiating for me? 7 free throws for us and 27 for Can't? Was this just the way the game went or were we getting hosed? It's not like they had a big lead and we were fouling, right?

I posted this very early in the season and I saw it again tonight "Saul Ball" going to be awesome when you're stroking it, but going to rip your heart out too--especially the stretch in tough games vs physical teams. I think one of my posts was, 'where do you go for a bucket late?" Those last few possessions were really bad with Simmons forcing stuff tonight. It clearly looked like panic mode and he knew he had limited options with/without Tony C.
Then add to that finesse ball drying up when things got tight (what was it, like 13-37 in 2H from the field); they shot something like 27 FT in the 2H while we shot like 5-7; and I think Rob C. said their last 15 points were all going to the hole, in the paint or at the FT line).

Feels like you're playing on the clouds the first 3/4 of the game, then in quick sand when things get tight and buckets get tough down the stretch. We've seen it all season long. With still a potential #2 or #3 seed it's worked out fine to this point, but I think the last part of games in Cleveland with this type of ball going to be awfully nerve wracking. Hope the perimeter stuff is working on the way to buzzer at the Q.

Right because we are on pace for a 2 seed but whomever wins the first round game is good enough to beat us. 4 or 5 years ago the MAC didn't have that much depth and a quartrefinal for us at the Q was almost an automatic W.

Just got home from the game.

I love the old gym with the fancy entrance and the band that plays different songs providing live music vs crap over the speakers.

Game lost by three very poor turnovers. Simmons 2 and Laster 1. Simmons takes his time coming up the floor and gets a 10 seconds--are you kidding me? Then he throws a little league pass that is intercepted cleanly by a guy with a full head of steam going the other way for an easy two or did it result in an and one? Laster jumps to shoot then changes his mind and tries to dribble for the travel and there went the lead.

Laster reminds me a bit of TJ Hall with good knees. The best line up today looked to me was when the Cats fought back from a deficit in the first half with Laster, Taylor and Culver. While Culver is far from a finished product on offense his defense tonight was very good. He was always looking to help and knocked two or three balls away from a driver. We didn't see him in the second half. Block could have used a few more minutes on the bench. Speaking of Taylor, he would have had the biggest basket of his OU career with the tip in to take it back to four but his team didn't prevail, lucky for the Cats on that play as Block was signaling for a timeout which the ref gave him after the tip in.

Dartis & KK may as well just fire threes because they look lost with the mid-range stuff.

Dartis is one my favorites, but you're correct, that he and KK are trying to add mid-range option to their games but it's a work in progress (and if you're a Senior like KK, probably safe to say it isn't happening). So if you have these 2 guys on the floor, along with Carter. Block and Simmons, where you going for tough bucks late? If you want something going to the hole you're going either Simmons or a Freshman in the likes of Carter. KK/Dartis going to give you perimeter stuff, or awkward drives to the bucket and Block is going to get his stuff blocked. Very limited options other than perimeter stuff.

Very, very impressed with Laster's progression. He's a slasher, he's athletic and he needs to be playing more and more over limited guys like KK and Block. When Culver came in, I left Mike for dead. He's taken back most of those minutes and more now. Good for him as we need his newly devised skill set.

I think the infinite suckiness of Time Warner forces that decision. They blacked out the Cleveland and Columbus markets, trying to protect their territory, which is stupid. It's not like that decision forced a single person to drive to Kent or switch to their cable. The Youngstown market still got it, and there's probably more Kent fans in western Mahoning and Trumbull counties (20 minute drive to the MAC Center probably) than fans of either in most of the blacked out area once you get away from the schools themselves. Hell, Athens technically isn't even in the Columbus market right now, are they? I know that changes about every 5 years anymore.

27 games in...and we're still dealing with it. 13 pt lead in 2H...poof! 19-8 run allowed to end game. An all too familiar story with this team. Leading up to an inevitable heartbreaking game in Cleveland in two weeks. How many points in the 2H does Ohio need to be up for anyone to feel safe? 20? 25? 30? It's a serious question.

Definitely will not have a warm and fuzzy feeling headed to Cleveland. We know they can put it together more often than not, but I'm not convinced they can play 3 games in a row against top half MAC teams and not blow a second half lead.

13 points is nothing in this day and age. It hardly qualifies as a big comeback anymore. It's a medium bump in the ebb and flow of the game.

Kent was very aggressive after they fell behind by 13, lots of driving to the rack. I wish we had the ability to do more of that.

Im the last one to call ref bias or chip on bad calls, its a tough job. But i must admit i was baffled by the zebras tonight. Especially when jaaron fouled that dudes elbow with his teeth.
