Just caught end of osu-northwestern game and saw freshman big man Micah Potter, who I believe Ohio tried to recruit, get some minutes for osu.

A question (for buckeye fans on BA) that I considered while watching was: who would you rather have on your roster - Potter or Carter?

Buckeye observer, not a fan...I like Carter because he seems such a great fit for Saul's system. I have no idea what Thad's system is all about.

Remember also that you are seeing Potter after he had a year in finishing sch---I mean prep school in FL. He should be more advanced than Jason, but he's not. I also know Jason can pass and has a great hoops IQ. Potter may also, but I don't know it for a fact.

Finally...BOTH GUYS NEED TO WORK ON THEIR FREE THROWS!

I saw Carter get a rebound flat footed yesterday because of positioning.

Ummm....you didn't see Gary Trent's freshman year?

Yes, I should have included Gary Trent. He was certainly very dominate in his freshman year.

Carter is on a hot streak, and I've been singing his praises since I saw him play in high school. But even I think we may need to slow down the rhetoric a bit with the comparisons to program legends and all-american mentions. The only blessing to come from Tony's injury is the early arrival of Carter as a starter. I agree his positioning in general and the rebounding that comes with it is already tremendous. He needs to develop his outside shot some more and watch the ill-advised fouls and get a little more touch around the rim. If all those things progress, then yes he COULD have a truly historic career at Ohio.

Leon Williams and Brandon Hunter had better freshman years, the kid is good, but stop with the craziness. The kid is a good, but there have been plenty of others that had better freshman years.

Nobody despises to lose more than I do. That's got me into trouble over the years, but it also made a man of mediocre ability into a pretty good coach. Woody Hayes

allen, I was talking about the potential I see in him for future development. I could be wrong, but I see really great things in this guy's future. I'm not talking really about comparing his freshman year with that of Trent, Luckett, or Haley. I'm just saying that I think he has the potential to be a player of that calibre or even better. Again, it's just my opinion and I may be proven wrong, but I think Carter has All-American potential.

Ok, I understand. He seems to have a nice all-around game.
