AJ is a well-rounded back and a great football player, but if he is not the best, he should not be starting. Period

I hope so, maybe that's why he almost became our starting inside linebacker. I feel like they won't pull the trigger unless AJ can start elsewhere. It is just their loyalty to him. I think AJ would start at 50-60 schools, but if you get somebody better, you have to play him.

Play-calling works a lot better when we start the right guy. Why AJ doesn't have 50-100% more carries than he has is a mystery. All he does is perform.

I like really fact we had the luxury to have other people to put out there that can get us points on the ground considering his high level of ability.

But, I think he has definitely made a serious statement with the NIU game to be in the starting lineup.

On a side note, I love having him on the team because Ohio's style of play is suited for tough, durable runningbacks. I loved Brinker's performances in much the same that I love AJ's tough and bruising style of play.

There is somebody that is faster and harder to bring down. I believe if this person got over 30 carries, he might go for 2+. It is demoralizing to have to tackle this person 30 times, just like AJ. I like AJ, I hope there is an open competition next year.
