I believe so, but that wasn't what this thread was about. In the title, the last word has two "L"s and no "I".

Now that we have sort of a depth chart, it's time to re-visit this.

OFFENSE
Offensive line - I actually think the depth chart posted is wrong, and that Wood will start at RG, as he did late in 2013, before he was hurt. The result will be a line that is very good, McQueen-Lucas-Powell-Wood-Watson. The best Ohio line under Lightner was Strum/Prior-Carlotta/Lechner-Allen-Herman-Flading/McGrath in 2011, and that line really made the backs look good that year. Without that line in front, the same backs did not look as good in 2012-2013. (Some blame the backs for this, but the difference up front was significant.) This line will probably not be quite as good as that 2011 group, but it will be close, and it has by far the best depth of any offensive line under Solich. With backups like Lowery, Cooper, Anderson, Pruehs, McCray, Gibbons, Langencamp, and others, injuries will have little impact. I believe that this line will, like the 2011 line, make the backs look very, very good.

Receivers - No real change to my comments above. The players are good, but still mostly Juniors or Sophomores. They will be good this year, but outstanding in 2016.

QB/RB - Again, no changes to my prior comments. Hopefully the offensive line will keep Vick healthy, and if so, QB will not be a problem. When Sprague or Windham play, they will look much better than last year. A year more experience makes a big difference, and having an excellent offensive line does, too. I'm really looking forward to watching the running backs behind this offensive line. I believe they are going to have a really good year, and that will open the passing game.

Overall Offense - No changes to my comments. I think this offense will be able to consistently gain yardage on the ground, which will open up the pass, and will allow them to finish drives in the red zone. I look for them to average about 28 points a game, which is average for the 2010-2014 time period.

DEFENSE
Defensive Line - No real changes to my comments. I still believe that how good the defense in depends on how the defensive line turns out. I'm cautiously optimistic that they will be good.

Linebackers - I like seeing the 5th year Senior transfer from Iowa, Collins, jumping up the depth chart. The linebackers were already good, and adding in another experienced and talented player can only make them better. I really like this group.

Defensive Backs - I don't see Carpenter on the depth chart, but I've had my doubts whether he can play anyway. With all the injuries at Safety, there are a lot of guys with experience, and factor in three Senior corners, and this is a veteran group.

Overall Defense - In the second year with this new defense, I expect a great, not good, defense. My goal is for them to hold other teams to 21 points a game, down from 24.8 last year. The best in recent years was 21.9, back in 2009.

TEAM AS A WHOLE - Reiterating what I said above, I like this team a lot. I see a balanced, strong defense, and a competent offense. I think the defense can take the ball away quickly, and the offense can sustain drives. This will be a competitive team that should never be blown out, and a team that can play with anyone on the schedule. The schedule is not favorable, and whether they can win the East this year will depend on the outcome of a lot of games that may be very close.

I don't know how accurate it is, but I do know that throughout last season they updated the chart from week to week to reflect injuries, etc, and I notice that the depth chart has moves that, as Ohio fans, we might expect, but which would not be automatically done by someone from the outside, like moving Pruehs from the starting RG to the backup center (where I expect they will try to redshirt him this year). It also has some changes that are surprising, and which may be right, but I would have had no way to predict, like the lineup at Safety. Therefore, it's what I'm using for the current time.

I agree that there is potential for this to be a good team and one that should contend for the MAC title game. If all goes great, a MAC title is a possibility. If things go badly, it could be a five-win season. I agree with LC that the best part of the offense is the offensive line, which should be the best one in a few years. That will make the other players look better, though I don't think the other players are of the caliber of the 2011 team. But I think the defense could be stellar, and that could make up for a defense that could be somewhat average.

I kinda like that chart...health as always a big issue but I think this is the best depth that Frank has had...Pruehs redshirt?...stay tuned....I like the 8 man D-line rotation as all are ballers and you might even throw in true Freshman McKnight...new DB coach will like his cupboard.

..or Arp...or Colbert. Hopefully all can redshirt. I'd much rather have them as a starter/fifth year Senior than to play a little as a Freshman.

That's a difficult question. How did Vick look behind a not so good offensive line in 2014, and how did that compare to TT behind the 2013 offensive line? How did AJ look behind the 2014 line, and how did that compare to Beau and Boykin behind the 2013 line?

It's not fair to compare the 2014 Vick (behind a not very good line) to the 2011 TT (behind an outstanding line). After the season, once Vick has played behind a good offensive line, we can compare Vick's play in 2015 to TT in 2011 and have a fair comparison. Similarly we can compare AJ in 2015 to Beau in 2011 and have a fair comparison. Only then will we really be able to answer your question, though.

Absolutely. He's enrolled.

I believe that the only ones not enrolled are:
Seymour - Grayshirt, not expected until January
Christian - Hopefully will arrive in the fall
D. Williams - may arrive in the fall, or head to Jones County Junior College
Glasco - retook SAT/ACT - will arrive in fall, or head to prep school, and be in 2016 class
Cloud - seems to be enrolled at Toledo
Addrell Taylor - late add, so must have qualified, but may not be enrolled yet
Kyle Robbins - late add, so must have qualified, but may not be enrolled yet

To make up for these, Ohio picked up a few bonus players who may be walkons at least initially:
Michael Farkas - 3-star punter http://tinyurl.com/qxxgkr8
James Ready 6'5" 292 OG http://tinyurl.com/pv5jwgy
Charles Smith 6'1" 195 SS/OLB http://tinyurl.com/q692cjn
Chukwudi Chukwu 6'2" 230 DL http://tinyurl.com/nlqrcaa

Farkas will no doubt get Bonnstetter's scholarship if he's good, and some of the others look pretty good, too.

Just don't play the name game song with Chuk Chukwa.
