Small sample size-just can't believe that there's anything meaningful about Tuesday's that make them any different than other days of the week if both teams have same schedule before it.

I wasn't trying to read a lot into it other than the fact that the crowds are always small on Tuesdays, and I think that removes a lot of the home field advantage. There is no doubt that a loud, supportive crowd helps the team.

I understand why they play the mid-week games, and certainly the whole MAC has seen an improvement in recruiting since the mid-week nationally broadcast games on ESPN networks began, but it isn't without cost.

The schedule says Eastern Time, which would make it 3:00 MT. Either way, they're probably trying to schedule for ESPN.

That is a very, very strange time for a game. Oh well. People in the East will be able to catch the second half when they get home from work, and those in Central time will be able to see the fourth quarter. I think its a safe bet that the ratings will be horrible, but at least it will be on National TV, I guess.

Moscow, Idaho, is in the Pacific Time Zone, so it's actually a 2 p.m. Thursday kickoff. WT*!

I can't speak for the East, but here in the Midwest, I will be watching at work.

We've had 2 midweek games every year in recent history. Not much of a shock there.

Ohio has never had two home games on Tuesdays, however, and the only day worse that Tuesday for attendance is the Friday after Thanksgiving. Worse, the low attendance at Tuesday games seems to erase Ohio's home field advantage. Here is Ohio's average attendance and record at midweek home games, by day, since 2009:
Tuesday 14,124 (Ohio's record 1-3)
Wednesday 17,339 (Ohio's record 2-1)
Thursday 15,951 (Ohio's record 2-0)
Friday after Thanksgiving 13,649 (Ohio's record 2-0)

Some shoddy attendance numbers there. The goal should be not increase our overflowing Homecoming crowd as much as to make sure each game is at least 20,000 tickets sold.

Most Memorable Bobcat Events Attended
2010 97-83 win over Georgetown in NCAA 1st round
2012 45-13 victory over ULM in the Independence Bowl
2015 34-3 drubbing of Miami @ Peden front of 25,086

I am hoping all our Saturday games this year will be start at Noon or 2pm. I figure last year's Saturday late game was because it was Idaho.

If that Idaho game is kicking at 5pm, I bet there is a chance it picks up TV other than just ESPN3. This is tailor-made for ESPNU.

That's probably going to depend on who we play and how well we're playing. In 2012 we averaged almost 24,000 for the Saturday games after beating Penn St and on the way to 7-0. We then had 16,000 for a Thursday night game vs EMU (1-7), then were just shy of 20,000 for the next Wednesday vs BG (we were 8-1, they were 6-2).

There's likely some natural drop-off in attendance in November because the weather isn't as nice, even for Saturday games. Most fans have to have something extra to come out for in cold, damp weather. I might be ok sitting in 45 degrees and rainy to watch a 4-4 team (either ours or theirs), but I doubt that my wife and son would.

I realize that a Saturday night game makes the drive brutal for many, but I don't mind one every once in awhile for the atmosphere.

I would bet the Marshall game will be an evening kickoff.

I think you called that one right on the Marshall game time. Recent games with the Herd would indicate that anyway. SE game either 1200 or 2, October games at 2 as per usual starting times. Marshall I see opens on a Sunday at home against Purdue. That might be interesting to take a drive down to see what the Herd will be like.

That would be a very safe bet. It has become policy to have the first home game in the evening. Per sampling and surveys that the department has done, that is the time that the student body wants.
