I'm just responding to Alan. I would not have gotten into this whole issue if Alan hadn't brought it up. I saw it as one of those nice heart-warming little stories that everyone would agree on. I didn't see any political angle to it all, until Alan tries to make it a poster child for Common Core, which he knows is controversial. While I very seldom bring up anything with political content, I'm often the first to respond to those who do, and I will continue to take on that role, because to be silent is to tacitly agree with those political statements.
