Andrew, maybe he just wanted to be able to have his friends and family from Canada be able to see him more easily. One, Buffalo is closer and two, there is far less competition, from a fan's perspective, to see the games.

With this addition, I would say Buffalo has the clear-cut best class in the MAC right now. Hurley reminds me of Fleck at WMU in football... Hated by a lot in the conference, including many on his own online fanbase.... Not a great first season. Very strong first recruiting class.

I think Hurley will have success at Buffalo, possibly even as quick as next year.

I am bummed we lost a quality player like Wigginton but I am not concerned about this recruiting class. That is what happens with coaching changes. We will get some players. Would surprise me if we still don't easily finish with a top class in the MAC... Hopefully THE top class but that'll be tough at this point.

I've seen crazier things happen.

Agree about the class, 2 top 35 guards by one service. Think about having a big name player (not coaching big name) with a well known past, all kind of connections with one of the top 2-3 programs in the country, young, energetic, in a weak conference. I'm guessing Hurley will be very successful and move up quickly. If they don't do better than us next year, I would be very surprised.

That dude's gonna regret his decision.

Ohio9704,

According to everything I have read about the NLI and getting a release from one, it is not up to the coach to grant or deny a release, (because the athlete is supposed to sign with the institution and not the coach)  and no conditions can be placed on that release. here is an excerpt from the release section:

If I fail to honor my NLI commitment and do not attend the institution with which I signed, may another NLI member institution recruit me?
Yes, if you have received a Release Request Form from the institution with which you signed, or the institution that desires to recruit you is granted permission to do so by the institution with which you signed. (If permission to contact is granted, it is not limited to certain institutions, but to all institutions seeking to recruit the student-athlete.)

I was truly hoping that none of these guys would end up at another MAC school but that is the way it goes I guess.

Thanks for the facts, Steve.  The same point was made in the Arkley Messenger article today which interviewed AD Schaus about this topic.

If Buffalo wins, Hurley will move on very quickly. Wigginton might get him for both years. But Hurley is bolting quick if successful.

Can somebody hit a pull up jumper for me?.....
