[/QUOTE]Hello all!
Hello all! Jake Pruehs committed to Coach Solich and Coach Lightner today. Of Jake's offers this coaching stood out and made this a comfortable decision for Jake. He is VERY excited to become a Center for the Bobcat's!

I am far from an expert on recruiting.  I don't look at much tape.  And tapes are all highlights of pretty good players--so, of course, tape always makes guys look like terrific.  But this young lad strikes me as very athletic.  It's crazy time to predict how he'll pan out for the Oho Bobcats.  There are just too many variables over too much time.  But I'm gonna predict that we look back at this as a very good 'get.'

I like that we are defending our ground instate well this year. As much as I hated to lose the C from Indiana at least it was to Purdue and not in the hands of another MAC school.

Pruehs Makes His Commitment Premium Story

St. Edward (OH) center Jake Pruehs is staying close to home. Check out what the rising senior has to say about his commitment to Ohio.

6-foot-2, 285 pound center Jake Pruehs had picked up offers from Eastern Michigan, Lafayette, Ohio and Yale throughout his junior year. Pruehs however didn’t feel a need to prolong his recruitment any longer.

“I committed to Ohio,” said Pruehs Saturday afternoon. “I’ve always been a fan of OU and they’ve been one of my top schools since the recruiting process started.”

The rising senior picked up the offer on Tuesday and knew right away that he wanted to be a Bobcat.

“I didn’t want to lose the great opportunity I have with OU. Out of all of my offers and schools of interest, Ohio ranks on top in every category.

They have great football and academics, I’ll get playing time and it’s close to home.” Pruehs is excited about just enjoying his final high school season.

“It allows me to be more focused on our team and a State Championship.”

The center could not be happier about joining the Ohio Bobcats.

“I am beyond excited. I haven’t stopped smiling all day.”

So, what can Bobcat fans expect from Pruehs?

“One word: Tenacity!”

Glad to see we are going strong in northeast Ohio region already this year.  The pedigree of St. Eds program is strong to say the least, and he might have been a bit overshadowed the last few years with all the talent there.  But you know you have a smart player when he's got most of the Ivy league after him.

They are consistently doing a good job of identifying and recruiting quality offensive linemen. Ohio is going to be very solid up front for years to come, and that's the foundation of a good offense.

Really like Mr. Pruehs at Center. On his tape he pulls very well and finds someone to put on their back. This is harder than it seems.

I always thought playing DL was fun, but then, I never had to play across from  Mr. Pruehs.

Having watched a few films of Mr. Pruehs, I'm going to take a stab that, as he usually does, Mr. Pruehs continued to play hard all the way to the whistle, even when away from the ball, and that the other player (who will be attending Findley) didn't appreciate that. I made the comment earlier that playing across from Mr. Pruehs, it would be a long day.
