I'm really looking forward to UMass in the MAC Tournament for hoops. Having another passionate basketball fanbase will only make for a more electric atmosphere in Cleveland.

One side note I hadn't thought about until now: we all know Barstool Sports has a love-affair with the MAC. Having UMass in the league now full-time for #MACtion should help get even more press from them considering they are a Boston-focused publication.

I've seen crazier things happen.

I do agree that a significant increase in student and alumni support would do wonders. But what else exactly should the MAC be doing to go about this? If you want people attending football games, they need to be on Saturdays. If you want to be on TV, you'll have to to be doing weeknights, generally.

Some Saturday availabilities on CBSSN might have opened up with Army's move to the AAC. Noon and 3:30 slots on CBSSN have usually been filled with Army, UConn or UMass home games. (CUSA and MWC mostly show up at 7 pm and 10:30 pm with some 3:30 games.) With Army moving to the AAC, their home games should be on an ESPN/ABC channel because the AAC has an exclusive deal with ESPN until 2031. And with UMass coming into the MAC, there should be more opportunities for Saturday MAC games on CBSSN, including maybe those few November Saturday games.

Anyone in the know aware of expanded live CBSSN programming on Paramount+ coming next season? Don't know how much that would drive up subscriptions.

For sure. Can you imagine FRANK MARTIN in the MAC? Wow.

UMass will be a fun addition. They went 20-11 last season and finished 4th right behind Dayton.

They will be a tough team and a definite bar raiser.

When UMass rumors started swirling, there were rumors that the MAC would probably want to add other schools. Now I'm not hearing anything. What's the latest?

macbarstool's Instagram account just posted Western Kentucky is coming in the fall of 2025. Good April 1 post. It still would be a good option if the MAC can make it happen
