I assume Derek Mason is next. They are not good. Mason said in his presser yesterday that there has to be changes. I don’t doubt we’ll see them real soon.

Edit: their AD just said today that he supports Mason and will work on getting the resources to help him succeed.

Well, Derek Mason got support from his AD today saying he would make sure he got all the resources he needs.

Great comments by the AD, he’s focused on trying to fix the real issues that have Vandy Football in the state they are in.

The state they are in?

They fell this year, but previous years are about as good as they will be (6-7-8 on occasion win seasons). Their two 9 win seasons Under Franklin (the only two since 1914) were off the chart. Their academic requirements are too much of a disadvantage in SEC. I give the AD credit for not judging against the reality.

A lesson that more than half of the SEC...or most Power 5 programs don't learn or understand.

Their "academic requirements" weren't a problem in the past. It used to be that virtually all of the football players were enrolled in Peabody College, which was across 21st Avenue, but whose students were also eligible to play for Vandy. I think Peabody is fully merged with Vandy now, but I have no idea what part "academic requirements" plays today in their difficulty succeeding. I suspect that a major part is that they are much smaller, and have less resources available, than most of the schools in the SEC.

“In the past”?....please tell me when Vandy was relevant in any major sport? Yes in Baseball the past 15 years, however, Peabody has been a part of Vanderbilt since 1979, with the same admission standards as everyone else into the undergraduate world. But you infer that Vandy was just fine before they changed standards. So I’ll wait on you to discover the powerhouse Vandy Football teams of a day gone by before Peabody was officially part of Vandy.

Vandy has been to 9 Bowl games in history, 30% of them in the past 6 years under D-Mace. So please let every Vandy fan know when that “Hey Day” was

I guess you should probably read the statement. The AD recognizes they have some of the worse facilities in America and it’s not the coach as much as the lack of tools to work with as a coach. He recognizes firing a coach is just putting another bandaid on a bigger issue.

There is no "hey day" and the "the real issues that have Vandy Football in the state they are in." is their academic standards and the conference they play in (a conference that otherwise has limited academic standards). Absent of abandoning those standards (which they will not do), there is limited changes the AD can make, accept embrace the job the recent coaches have been able too accomplish. But then, who on this board (or anywhere else) really cares about Vandy football?

Which is exactly what the AD is saying (that and they owe 3 years of a buyout) He understands, that unless they find other funding, buying out Coaches is not going to change the current state of the program.

And yes, I care about Vandy Football, I count several of those coaches as friends.

And think about this SEC Coordinators make as much as D-Mace and position coaches make more than Frank.

I didn't infer that at all. In fact, I inferred the opposite. In fact, I said that their problem is that they are much smaller, and have less resources. What I did say was that at one time Peabody had lower academic standards than Vandy, so they had the football players enroll there. I'm sure they have ways today of getting players in. It still doesn't make them equal to the SEC.

Peabody has a beautiful campus, by the way. It's actually much more attractive than the Vandy side of the street, which has very eclectic architecture.
