I don't know if he will be a locker room leader since he will only have been here for one year. He could probably be a third down tight end or a backer. Poling is not going to say, you come from Michigan so you can lead our locker room.

The young man graduated Michigan in four years as a student/athlete. He wants to continue his athletic endeavors as a graduate student at Ohio. He is following in the wake of Heitzman and Strobel. Me, I am willing to go way out on that limb and project him as one who will join with Poling as a team leader. No one, well maybe allen, expects Poling to handle the leadership of 100+ 18-23 year olds all by his lonesome. The more leader types in the locker room the better. The more old guys around who are where they are supposed to be, when they are supposed to be, doing what they are supposed to, the better. All those freshmen need to see their example. Better that than relying on coaches to chase them all down. I bet Poling is already missing Reid, Basham, Laseak, Sayles, Brown, Davis, Watson, Cooper, Smith and Strobel, to name only a few.

Stop crowning people because they went to a big school. He needs to come and fit in. We have 15 seniors leading winter practices and spring practice. You are already lining up for car washes and we don't know what kind of skill he has. If he went to Grand Valley State and started, we would not be having this conversation.

I'd actually be more excited if he started and contributed on Grand Valley States roster than his role at Michigan

I hear you.

I'm neither excited or unexcited. Some Grad transfers have helped, some have not. I hope he has a great season and finds a way to help the team, but we'll just have to wait and see.

This thread has slipped too far down the front page.

So here's something to speculate about:

I have zero interest in him or any grad transfer QB. You fix the issue by recruiting and developing, not putting a band aid on the problem for one year only to have the same issue a season later while setting the position back a year in the process.

I would take Zaire in a heart beat, you take good QB when you can, there is no specific method.

Sometimes you just need to buy time to get a long-term answer ready.

How many decades of time would that be?

Good to know that the Bobcats believe in the Browns' approach.

I think somewhere along the lines the story changed/merged. I don't think the now infamous tweets were about Cox, but I was guessing he was an unreported commit.

Maybe it was Zaire but he changed his mind shortly after, and pushed his real commitment out until April. We may never know.

Gentlemen, the mystery is over and has finally been officially solved. One of our very own crack detectives has confirmed the mystery transfer is indeed....Malik Zaire. And in E.W. Scripps School of Journalism form, my "source" (who has more inside connections than the ever-reliable Jason Arkley) cited "two insiders verified the tweet" as being about Zaire, not Cox. So there you have it. Malik Zaire is coming to Ohio. That will be what he announces next month.

Doc Bobcat announced it first and then another person verified it. I am not an insider. I love the program, but I am not close to any of the coaches. I have been on this board for a while and I trust Doc bobcat and I really trust the second source. As far as OhioBobcat, I would not tell him who the second souce was so he or she is acting childish. The reason why I would not disclose the second source was because Ohio Bobcat is a fake fan. He inboxed me and told me joe burrow was too good for Ohio not once but like three times. he told me that he was trying to be close to Burrow, he is like his Stan, if anybody has ever heard Eminem's song stand. he also said that Tarell Basham was not athletic enough to be an OLB and that his best friend was bashams agent and he wanted him to play in a 4-3 and I watched Basham live at the combine go through linebacker drills and he was great, his 20 yard shuttle was faster than a few db's, he also caught the ball cleanly, so in the back of my mind he acts like a groopy and always wants to be close to bigtime players, he has a name that indicates that he is all in, but in realness he is not a real fan. I just wanted to clarify this. I may say things that people don't like, but I am real. Other people know about Zaire and maybe they can square others away, but don't let OhioBobcats mediocrity rub off on you. Btw, i like Burrow, I hope he does well but he is not too good for Ohio and I hope Zaire proves it. Mike Mitchell was a second round pick and made 20 million and Basham is on his way. If you come to Ohio and apply your self and listen, you can play on Sundays, we have hot had a great QB in a while, and we should encourage Zaire to feel comfortable playing in the green and white.

Okay, now you've gone a little too far. Those who read what he just posted, not that any of you give a damn either way, but I've never sent allen a single personal message - EVER - let alone sent anything like he alleges, and the board administrators can look for themselves and verify it. I'll share my username and password to prove it. I have 3 personal messages, two of which are from you, and neither did I reply back. That can also be verified by the board administrators. And if you want to talk about being childish, I can share with everyone on here what you sent if you'd like. I have no problem with anyone coming on here discussing, arguing, debating or ribbing, but to flat out lie and make things up like you just did, that's just a d-bag move and you know it. We can disagree about whatever the issue is all day long, that's fine. Anything I've ever discussed with you has been in this open forum. Period. But you just showed a lot about who you are taking that route. Nice move man, you've solidified my opinion of you. Carry on...

you also posted these same comments here. I can show you, see you want to play these mediocre games and try to make me look silly. You have revealed your true colrs, that why I asked how did you come up with Ohio Bobcat. To suggest that someone one broke more than their ankle to want to come here shows you are not a true fan. You want to look down on the program, but at the sametime say that you are attached to every elite player that comes through here, that sounds leachy. Like I have told you time and time again, NOBODY is too good for Ohio, players have made it to the NFL and made millions and you have attempted to latch yourself to them. All people have to do is read, I have been on this board for a long time. I was hear when Mike Coleman used to break all the news, you get no sympathy, it is sickening to think that we have fake fans. Stop denigrating the program and stop denigrating people like Zaire for wanting to come here. Go to OSU's site, go stalk Urban Meyer, but don't come here looking for sympathy.

Your wondering what my point is?

Stop wondering and add it to what should be your pile of disappointment.

Here is your work below

Let's all be honest for a second here. If any of us were a QB the caliber of Burrow who could pretty much go anywhere in the country to play, why in God's name would we play for Ohio? Honestly? What, to win a MACC for the Ohio Bobcats? Big F'in deal! He's part of a program competing for national championships for crying out loud. Look, I strongly dislike Ohio State for many reasons, but you'd have to be an idiot to pick Ohio over all his options. Further, he's only a redshirt freshman at one of the top programs in the nation that starts a very good and experience player. You don't think he's developing being there? Then you must have missed his spring. He'll have his time soon. And I praise his dad for supporting him to go where HE wants to play, not where his father wanted him to (his dad probably wanted him to play a much better programs also anyway). It's what any good parent would do. The kid is a Buckeye. Accept it, get over it and let it go.

Btw, it was said that had not OSU made a last minute offer, we would have had Cardale Jones. We have been in on great QB's. Keszei had the greatest Nike Sparq rating EVER. Zaire would be the greatest in a long while, but NOBODY is too good for Ohio, he would not have to have broken more than an ankle to come here. You picked the wrong guy to disrespect the program too.

This is fun!

allen--Sorry but history shows nothing to think that a qb would come to OHIO if he wanted to develop to NFL level, wanted to reach the NFL.

Don't you think that a program's track record on that count matters to those who consider playing at OHIO.

Might at least partially explain why we couldn't get Burrow.

Allen, I don't "have to try to make you look silly." You do just fine with that all by yourself. Further, you've completely missed the point I have issue with. So let me spell it out for you....You lied, and made up things that never happened. I never, ever sent you a private message in my life. Ever. Not a single one, nor the multiple ones you're lying about. But you have to me. Why the hell did you lie and say that crap??? It's a simply question, one I'm sure I won't get an honest answer to, but I had to ask. Also, I never said anything like that about Basham either as you stated, not on this board, not in a private message to you (which again, never happened). Now, did I ever say Burrow was too good for Ohio? Yes, I absolutely did. It's my opinion and I stand by it and don't care if you agree or disagree with it. You can do either, that's your choice. But again, I said it in an open forum, and yet again, never multiple times in a private message as you stated. You can disagree with anything I say, that's fine, but to come on here and make up lies and post them on a message board like that, solidifies you're a fool. And I'm obviously one too for even responding to you. But I did so because unlike you, there are people on this board who don't act like they're 7 years old making up lies and throwing a tantrum simply because someone has a different point of view than them and they don't like it. I'd ask you to man up and admit your post was untrue, but we both know it will never happen, and the fact you took that route in the first place shows the kind of person you are anyway. And again, the board administrators can verify it. I just hope like hell you're only an Ohio fan and not an Ohio student or grad, because if so, you've cheapened all of our degrees today.

I have a master's degree and I am currently working on a second master's degree. Don't try to bring us down to your mediocre state. Go post on OSU's site. Why are you here if you are not an Ohio fan? Why do you have the name OhioBobcat? You have been cheapening us as fans and I am calling it out. NOBODY is too good for Ohio, we don't play games to hang, we play to win. We recruit to win.

I wish I could introduce you to Lakarlos Townsend who turned down USC to come here. If Lakarlos had not been injured he would have went to the NFL. There is a poster/former player that turned down Louisville and Nebraska.

Nobody despises to lose more than I do. That's got me into trouble over the years, but it also made a man of mediocre ability into a pretty good coach. Woody Hayes

I would have guessed that you have a doctorate in grammar/spelling.

* "Why are you HEAR. . .?"

* "he would have WENT to the . . ."

* The comma in your first sentence is not necessary.

So, who is cheapening this board, not to mention a degree from Ohio University?
