Each year since 2008--is it the lack of play makers or offensive scheme or QB?

From CFBSTATS: Rank the top 50 players--I show OHIO in top 50 and list only the number of top 25 for the conference teams (stats only go back to 2008)

Interesting numbers. Need some time to digest, but as for 2016, where is Miami and NIU is leading the pack with 5 and a 1-6 record, not much correlation there. Ohio has been decimated with injuries so I'm not surprised. Call it excuse or whatever, nobody can argue that we're short on bullets this year.

All Purpose yards contain Kick-offs and punt return yardage. Bad teams return more kicks, sometimes 5-8 kicks per game. If your player averages 20ypr that's over 100 yards right there in just returning kick-offs. Then you add in any carries or catches they would normally have in a game as well.

Good point. As usual, there's lots of factors that go into numbers like these, and there's no simple correlation between them and how good a team you are unless you dissect them in some detail.

I just noticed that these apparently just for MAC games so pretty small sample size so far this year.
