Unfortunately, the lack of at least one MACC will tarnish his tenure while the coach at Ohio. If he is unable to recruit enough top talent, and put together a conference winning team, those wins against an NCAA penalized Penn State team and badly coached Dave Wannstedt Pitt team won't matter. The AD released a planned upgrade of Huskie Stadium to 35,000 seats. The type of recruiting that a coach is doing. Younger coaches have an edge image wise for having new and innovative schemes. I believe their attendance peaked about 2004 under Novak. The 13,505 was for Ball State on a Saturday in mid October right in peak football season. Some of the MAC schools draw nice for the opener under the lights then tail off. NIU isn't doing that even. It shouldn't be hard to fill it when most of the alumni are 30 minutes away in Chicago. With the pedigree NIU has plus the move they just tried to make to move up to the Big 12, I doubt they will tolerate a step back. Win a MAC title in your 2nd year, and make it just about every other season. They struggled with QB injuries as we saw towards the end of last season. 2016 seems to be the anomaly here, it's weird to see them at 0-3. What a day at the Convo.....Wow!
