Michigan has backed out of their two-game series to play ND. http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf/2016/07/07/mic... /

Any chance of dropping a 1AA home game for one of these?

I'd love to play an SEC team. Count me out on that road trip, though. The SEC road trips range from "YES! I do want to spend time in Athens/Oxford/Nashville" to "Sure, I can buy a pair of jorts and sweat through them for a weekend in Gainesville" to "Why in the world would I want to go to Starkville/Fayetteville?"

Last time I was in Arkansas (a few months ago) there was a combination gas station/ waffle and pancake joint. It was about 11AM and there was a busload of people hoggin down on a breakfast buffet and they were all in their pajamas! I swear its true.

I thought to myself-These are the people that gave us the Clintons.

No Hog games for me please!

Arkansas - Pine Bluff - also gave me my wife. Yep, Lynne and I met at OU but she was southern born. By the time she and I met, her family had settled in Marietta, GA where her dad was a design engineer at Lockheed. BTW, plenty of Arkansas folks held the Clintons in disdain. As you likely know, Slick Willy - a derisive moniker used by many Arkansans - lost a bid for re-election as governor.

Having visited her family in Arkansas several times, I can speak with authority about August/September weather there. Whereas we in the north speak of the wind chill factor, Arkansans speak of the humidex.

Well...when you're from the Tri State area like I am...where Suthurn Ahia, West Virginia and Eastern Kentucky converge...you just don't make fun of Arkansas. You know, that old thing about people in glass houses??

I've been to Arkansas for a game and it was a great time and atmosphere. I also enjoyed Fayetteville a lot. I'd love to see Ohio play there, but it's very unlikely to happen. Yes I know Ohio plays Tennessee this year, but we've got a much better chance at landing games against the bottom feeders than we do quality teams. Some of Ohio's recent non conference schedules have been, well, I think crappy sums it up pretty well compared to our peers. If this were New Mexico State or Kansas again, I'm sure our AD would be all over it. But Arkansas? Not so much.

Well, Suthurn Ahia boys fought for the Union. Them folks in Ar-kansas were on the wrong side of history. That's a big difference. We may be hillbillies but we were part of Lincoln's Army not secesh rebeldom. In fact, Jeff, the National Chorister of the Grand Army of the Republic (Union veterans organization) was from right there in good old Jackson. His name was J. W. Hank. He sang veterans songs at many a national encampment of the GAR. [I can send you a CD of four of his songs, if you're interested. It was copied from an old 78, made in the 1920s.]
