Can anyone remember the name of the sportscaster for WBNS in the 1980s, maybe early '90s, who would always say "Biggggg Walnut" when he was giving football and basketball scores involving Big Walnut High School near Sunbury? I can't for the life of me remember his name. I did have an exchange with him, I recall, on his too frequent use of "Ohio U." Anyone help me with a memory refresh?

No . . . much younger than Crummy Jim, as we used to call him with due affection afforded all Bobcats. This guy was in his 20s or early 30s in the time period mentioned. He's probably still a broadcaster somewhere. If memory serves, and it's not too good on this chap, he may have gone somewhere out in the West when he left Cowtown. Thanks for the try, though.

Jim Crum was a big Bobcat fan and a good friend of Bill Hess, and spoke at the Green and White Club Banquet a couple times.

Wikipedia lists someone named Gary Radnich as BNS's sports director in the early '80s. He's the only sports guy listed. He's now with KRON in SF: http://kron4.com/2015/03/06/the-world-according-to-gary-111/

Thanks, Pataskala, that's him. I looked at his 30 year anniversary clips on the link you supplied and they were very interesting. This must mean that he left BNS in 1985.
