Author Message oldkatz General User Member Since: 12/22/2004 Post Count: 1,421 Status: Offline     Abby G double award!    Posted: 9/30/2015 3:21:11 PM  Ohio volleyball senior setter Abby Gilleland (Bull Valley, Ill.) has swept the Mid-American Conference East Division weekly awards, garnering both Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week recognition, as announced by the league office on Tuesday (Sept. 29). Gilleland is the first MAC player to sweep the weekly awards in over two years. Her honors mark her first of the 2015 season. She earns MAC East Division Offensive Player of the Week for the fourth time in her career and MAC East Division Defensive Player of the Week for the first time. Nicely done, Abby! Blackman, E. Herman and K. Lamberti, just to name 3. Obviously Abby belongs in that group. I doubt we've ever had anyone with her will to win. It'll be interesting to see what she's doing 10 years down the road. Whatever it is, she'll be a tremendous success... And another, Brianna Adamovsky ('04) will enter the Hall of Fame this Fall. This team has much depth, including 5 key seniors, Abby, Meredith, Karin, Shelby, and Bree (although listed as a RS Jr) who plan to make the most of their last year. Take them one at a time, ladies, and go out smokin'.
