Brought to you by the same department that makes grandma walk all the way around the outside of the convo in the snow, and allows no parking under the building.

The A News article mentioned that when they were told it was a safety issue in regards to egress, they created a clear path when asked. But our resident cowboy from Scott Quad had already made his mind up that he was there to show his ass once again.

I would in general agree that the first floor would have probably been smarter as it would still give you visibility and lessen the egress issue, but the chief annoys me so I also don't really care.

Another march - a singing one - is being organized by a women's studies prof for today at 4:30.

Great to see activism is alive and well on campus. It has always been one of the things I like most about OU and Athens.

Can somebody hit a pull up jumper for me?.....

The first I witnessed was 1979...Iranian students wearing "Death to the Shah" masks often protested at the campus gate. They went out-of-sight once the hostages were taken. One of the leaders, a congenial guy, lived across the hall from me in Crooks...I sometimes wonder what he is up to now.

Today, I'd probably wear a death to the Shah shirt with them. US foreign policy and propping that corrupt leader up, directly led the the horrible relationship for the last 40 years.

You are correct. Cold War era diplomacy resulted in many unsavory alliances and puppets. Our relationship with the Shah countered the Soviet's cozy relationship with Iraq.

They should have moved these kids out of the way sooner. You can't be in a busy building blocking the fire exits. If you want to shout at the wind, go do it outside.

Check the videos, they weren't blocking anything. Ever heard of freedom of assembly? Freedom of speech? There were a half million people in D.C. last week demonstrating and marching. Not ONE arrest! This was pathetic what took place in Athens.

I bet you were also yelling "over the back" and "three seconds."

I am strongly a democratic party guy.

If you take over potions of a building for a few hours and then the police show up and give you several warnings to leave or be arrested, don't complain about being arrested.

I honestly don't get it. Seems simple to me.

I agree. It's called "civil disobedience" - potential arrest is part of the action decision.
