Correct me if I'm wrong, but a "full schedule" for one of our athletes is 12+ hoursrs. Between that and priorty scheduling it wouldnt be that hard to not have monday classes,. Heck, i had several friends taking 16+ hours and managing to only have classes scheduled 2 days a week

I'll agree with you there. To be considered a full-time student, you must be registered for at least 12 hours a quarter, and when I was a junior, I had scheduled 17 credit hours and managed to ONLY have class on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

It seems that freaking out about Cooper being in Houston is a little premature.

I've followed the mbb program closely since I entered OU (yes, Administration, that's the name of the school ... nothing wrong with Ohio U.) in '91 and, I'm sorry, the program officially died on 4/1/11.

Christian, who was too good for Kent State, is now coming to Athens. He QUIT his latest job because he was about to be fired. Or, he was SCARED of competing with the big boys of the Big 12 and decided to exit stage left.

The idea of taking a someone like that, a guy who is sloppy seconds from Kent, is beyond pathetic.

I'm hoping Cooper & Co. either go pro (i.e. Europe) or transfer out IMMEDIATELY. There is no reason, none, to play for a joker like this. A few of the guys may be close to graduating but, if it was me, I'd take the academic hit and play D2 ball at Ashland at this point.

And, I can't wait to see Ford & Boals get head coaching gigs (maybe even in Oxford) and prove the current administration wrong.

Since we died a year ago from yesterday we've won the MAC tourney, made the Sweet Sixteen, set a school record for wins and nearly pulled off one of the greatest upsets ever.

I like this program better as a ghost.

Oh, is there a buy out with Christian's TCU contract?  And, are we supplementing him with the $200k the U of I probably paid for JG.  Just curious...

First, Christian is not a bad coach, highest MAC winning %, second he left TCU because they didn't have any funding with all of the support going to football. Would TCU of gotten slaughtered in the Big 12? It's most likely, but TCU had a great turn around this season in the MWC. It has been said on the TCU board that Ohio is actually a step up. So take a deep breath, give the guy a chance and you might be pleasantly surprised...

Is this a parody of what the most over the top, wrong-headed reaction would look like?  If so, well done.

I remember when basketball fans in Indiana were furious about the Indiana Pacers passing over the in-state favorite Steve Alford in the first round of the NBA Draft to pick the unacceptable, unathletic, funny-looking, worthless, franchise-ruining waste of a pick Reggie Miller. Your post reminds of those fans.

You share my sentiment.

I'm sure the players are ready to get the hell out of Athens.  Walking around campus and being treated like rockstars must not be any fun at all.

I'm now thinking that this hire will not only cause the death of Ohio basketball, but also of the university itself. Perhaps also the game of basketball in its entirety and the American system of higher education.

A disaster of biblical proportions. Old Testament, real wrath of God type stuff. Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies! Rivers and seas boiling! Forty years of darkness! Earthquakes, volcanoes...  The dead rising from the grave! Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together... mass hysteria!
