Joining Jake Diebler's staff as an assistant, had been at Grand Canyon U. since 2020.

Walker was part of Groce's first year in Athens, then went to Arizona for a year before coming back to OU for two seasons. After the Sweet 16 run, went with Groce to Illinois, was Illini interim HC for the 2017 NIT when they reached the quarterfinals, stayed at Illinois for three years with Brad Underwood
