How a coach allocates what money he does have is an important part of the job now. We spent money last year, but none of us really know how or where it went.

I would say the market demand dictates whether or not we can afford a particular player. Just like most verticals. In the case of Myles, we made it to his top 3 or 5 (I can't remember the exact). This was after we already brought in Ike and Shereef.

I don't think Boals misread the market, but I think Myles got to a price point that we couldn't afford based on his demand and what we had available in funds. Which is what I was initially implying about Braun.

We experienced what the market can do to the cost of premium size, even from a mid-major. We weren't able to go to that level a year ago for whatever reason. It was just out of financial reach.

Clayton played alongside Wiz for a limited couple of minutes total this year by my unofficial calculations (about right, shabamon?). Did he play at the same time with DWIII the previous season?

I wouldn't mind seeing Hadaway at the 3, Clayton at the 4 and a portal newbie at the 5 except maybe when Ohio is up against teams playing small ball (UT, Kent, e.g).

At the end of the season the MAC is actually ranked behind the Horizon in NET rankings - not that that's the be-all, end-all for a recruit, but a player from the Horizon may be looking for a more upward trajectory. I'd be curious to see some data on how many portaling players actually "level up" and how many for the most part just make a lateral move.

I think eventually we will see GM's getting hired at schools that can afford them. It makes a ton of sense in football as the rosters are much deeper.

Yeah, we're not saying anything different. I just wonder if the cost to get Myles to sign was more than what we offered Myles + what we paid to Cornish and/or Shareef. To me, it's impossible to really measure the job Boals (or any coach) is doing without knowing things like that. Just the reality of where we are.

Noooooooo not the Duke recrcuit...

Not sure where he is going to go considering he is a walkon. Probably going to test market and if he doesn't get any significant takers then likely staying with us or moving down to D2 or D3.

We have reached out to Antwone Woolfolk from Rutgers. He was a classmate with EJ4 at Brush. 6'9" 230+. Good athlete and high FG%. Rebounds per minute are strong.
