Rarely any video when students are not in town. Our non CBS/ESPN (real broadcast) are done by a class. No students equals no class in this case.

Detroit’s 1-4, not 3-7. Their lone win is over UC Irvine in a small Vegas tournament.

Whenever watching TV and the announcers mention that a certain player is a coach's son, Antoine Davis is the opposite of the typical example.

No team in the country relies on one player more than Detroit relies on Antoine Davis.

Also, did you know he broke Steph Curry's record for most threes in a season by a freshman?

He did but I'm not sure you could find two more different players. Curry averaged 29 wins a season in his three years. Not sure Davis gets that many in his career.

This is pure undeniable Daddy Ball going on at the D1 collegiate level. You normally hope that world goes away by High School but certainly college.

Davis has shot over 40% in just one game thus far. In fact he's on a four game stretch where he has shot under 40. But, he has done a lot of his damage from the free throw line. Defend without fouling and we should cruise.

Thank God our free throw shooting showed up. Say hi to Coach Cal for me if you and he are still in the building.

Well that was entertaining. 25 points in the first 5 minutes then 25 in the next 15. The way Dartis started I thought we might see another Jamerson performance. It appears Roderick's injury is his right hand. McDay continues to impress me with his court savy and awareness of what's going on all the time. It's obvious that someone has worked with this team on finishing around and on both sides of the rim. Boals is in complete control of this team and himself not to mention he is impeccably dressed from head to toe. Lots of people and I mean lots, missed a fun and entertaining game.

Great to see BVP making his free throws. The Darty start was something to see and feel and I was thinking of Jamerson's 60 too. Especially after the four point play you could feel it in the building, and there weren't many of us there. I'm sure JD wished DM had stayed with the zone defense.

Just got home from the game. As I'm sure many thought, it appeared we were going to blow them out early on but credit to them for fighting back. It seemed Davis was hitting everything he threw up the whole second half except for the last few minutes. I'm sure he was getting tired then from the energy he had to expend but it also appeared our guys really clamped down in that last stretch when we needed it.

All contributed but I don't think we hold on to win without Ogbonda having what I think was his best game (especially in those last few minutes) in the green and white. I saw a physical side to him that I have been hoping to see since the season began. There were several examples of this but perhaps the most subtle one, but still very important, was when he aggressively went to meet the ball on a pass to him and was fouled. Earlier in the year I think he was more passive, waits for the ball to come to him, and that is a steal by the opponent. Great to see.

What Davis did in the second half for Detroit reminded me of when CMU's Sugar McLaughlin put on a show before a sparse Convo crowd in 1982.

Speaking of sparse crowds, I'd put yesterday's attendance at around 1,500 (1,396 for BTC).
