MTSU has ONE d-1 win this season. The other two were against d-3 or NAIA schools. They have been blown out the last three games.

And not the mention the bragging rights of those Ohio alums who have/had kids, friends, etc that went to MTSU. And it's the MAC vs what's left of the C-USA.

I live 12 miles from MT in Rutherford County.

After the @ss beating Ohio took at Curb Center to Belmont on ESPN that night and Saul's team blowing a 20 point lead to lose at WKU, some local payback would be nice and I fully expect a win over TN Tech as well, not that the Tech game will get any coverage here in the Nashville area. It won't.

Now that North Alabama is D-1 in sports, there are like eight or nine division one basketball schools in about a 100 mile radius around Nashville. (Depending on whether Alabama A&M is considered D-1 in hoops.) This would make a nice road swing for Boals to put together. And Vandy would pay $$.

I always thought you liked MTSU and their caliber of recruits. 😉

I've never "liked" or pulled for MTSU in sports but I did recognize the level of athletes their FORMER coach (now at Ole Miss) was getting both from high school and transfers. Probably why they were making the big dance and beating Big Ten teams once they got there. Obviously those days are over. Suits me fine. Leaves more mid-major talent for the fledgling D-1 basketball program at UNA.

I'm guessing this is just a temporary "fade" by MTSU. They are in a recruiting hotbed, as you know, and I think it's just a matter of time until they are strong again. Actually, the final score today did not indicate how badly Ohio beat them. We let them come back a little toward the end.

It's been pretty hot for football and baseball talent but there is a bit of a lull in the basketball star department post-Garland. There is one blue chip prospect left right now in the Nashville area and he certainly won't be going to MTSU... https://247sports.com/Player/Brandon-Miller-46086324 /
