Jaaron transferred to Mich because he wanted a path to the NBA. O$U's top 2018 recruit just decommitted from A&M for the same reason. He looked at their 17-15 record and the fact they were passed over for the NIT and reopened for offers. I don't care that Matta says he isn't holding any grudges, that really has to hurt his pride and his image. http://www.dispatch.com/sports/20170427/ohio-state-basket...

We will get by.

We will survive.

This is madness. (Not you Pataskala - but mainly that recruit). The NBA will find you. For sure.

I think Jaaron's transfer had a lot to do with playing better competition consistently, and virtually guaranteeing he has an NCAA tourney experience. Up until very recently (when TOSU lost so top assistants) you got the same with TOSU. And... I am really not a fan of TOSU.....

Can somebody hit a pull up jumper for me?.....

Don't get me wrong, it's fun anytime OSU struggles. . .

but this is silly. We're 2 years removed from OSU having a player picked 2 overall. In the last decade, OSU has had three guys taken in the top 2 overall. And neither of those guys is Mike Conley, who is a top tier NBA point guard and currently one of the 5 highest paid players in the league.

Hate to say, the quality of assistant coaches have slipped significantly in Columbus. Boals getting moved up to the #2 chair was not what folks in Columbus had in mind. Not only that, they are still reeling from the 2011 recruiting class that came in (Class of 2015 for those keeping score at home) that included a bunch of lazy bums on the practice court and locker room. Hopefully next year things begin to turn but should be another two years before culture damage is undone.

In addition, he's the last kind of kid I want at Ohio State. He is exactly what Matta and Co. have been recruiting for the better part of the last 6 years and just more gasoline for the problem at hand.

"Hopefully next year things begin to turn around?" Sounds like you're a Buckeye fan. :(

I did my undergrad there and still have friends who work for the team so yeah kind of am. But notice how much time I spend on here and on Court St. vs High St. It's impressive when I walk into my Holy Trinity of Bars and the first out of their mouth is "would you like your usual sir?" Almost feel like a VIP in Vegas with that treatment every time I go into Pub, Pigskin, or Lucky's.

You have to wonder if Matta's time is nearing the end in Columbus. Maybe they're spending too much on football. Lol. I don't follow them, but kids bailing is not a good thing on the surface.
Couldn't happen to a better place.

And unlike the "big city" you can buy a round on Court Street and get change from your twenty. :)

More like change for a 10.....I try to tip well. The things I learned on Court St.

1. Get to know thy bartenders during the summer....will pay dividends come fall
2. Tip well, makes it easier for cheaper drinks and at times on the house
3. Tip the door guy a dollar from time to time. That spot is like AAA in baseball. At some point they'll get the call up to the big show and when they do, they know who to grease.
4. Always eat something before passing out....
5. Again, eat something before passing out!
6. Do not order tequila after a dozen drinks....if you want to go down for count that will do it.

This is some of the best thread drift I've seen in awhile!
