I ask this only because we enter an exciting time of Saul Phillips' tenure with new recruits making us excited. I am actually excited/worried about two of the guys who he inherited in Khari and Wadley. These two guys have struggled with injuries in their entire careers but also have shown flashes of stability. Wadley was a double-double guy to start the season and has shown athleticim and shot-blocking ability. Khari has shown he can hit mid-range and 3-pointers while also playing tough defense in last year's postseason. Does anyone see them both or one of them stepping up into a key role this year? I think Gavin and Laster are both going to improve immensely but Khari has starting experience and Wadley is in his second year of being healthy. I'd love to see them both step up.

I'm interested to see what both of them can do when they have a healthy body of a nice chunk of the season. I think Wadley can contribute a bunch if he can stay healthy throughout the year. Harley has been discussed as a very talented guy since he's been here. Hopefully he can stay healthy enough to force the issue for playing time.

Block is going to play a lot, I think we all assume that. Laster is an interesting story though. I've felt like since he's been in Athens that if he can improve the jump shot and three point shot, he'd be a tough player to guard. He can obviously beat players of the dribble.

I'm assuming that PT will be hotly contested after what I assume to be a starting five of:

Simmons
Dartis
Block
Kaminski
Campbell

I just hope that Saul extends the bench a little, and gets into a mode of playing 9-10 guys. I feel like there's a lot of talent on this team after the starting five.

If I could pick one thing I want to see from Laster, it's that he finishes. He DID beat guys off the dribble, and I don't know what his success rate at the rim was, but I'm hoping to see an improvement there. If he does that coupled with the defense he provided, then he will provide valuable minutes this year.

At the caravan stop in Cbus this past May, it was apparent from Saul's comments that not much is expected from Wadley, he was very lukewarm in his comments about him. Thinks the Crohn's Disease took a lot out of him.

Here's how I see our rotation shaping up for next year:

Starters- Simmons, Dartis, Block, Kaminski, Campbell

1st 2 off the bench- Laster, Taylor

Next 2 off the bench- Wadley and Harley

Unknown- Dozier, Carter, Culver

N/A- Gollon (redshirt)

Wadley and Harley have been in Athens for 3 years now, I see no reason for either one of them to suddenly become a different player than what they have always been. Our depth will be determined by how well the 3 freshmen contribute, my hope is that they pass Wadley and Harley and even push to take Laster and Taylor's spots.

MY STATE. MY TEAM.

My hope is that Carter and Culver join DT as our first three off the bench with Laster a close fourth. I also hope that Dozier is a diamond in the rough who will shock people. And I do have hope that with his length at least Khari will be serviceable.

If there's an 8 man rotation, I'd be surprised if Wadley is part of it. I would NOT be surprised to see Carter work his way into it.

I like Harley and Wadly in supporting roles. You can't rely on either one of them to stay healthy for the entire season, but I definitely see both of them contributing off the bench.

Taylor might take some of Wadly's mins, who knows. But I'm glad he stuck around after considering a transfer.
