Ballup set up a site in Indy. Between covering 10k MILES already teaching shooting camps Tommy has made it home to join some elite amateurs and overseas players in playing for a million bucks. His team has guys from UK, Pitt, Evansville in addition to some good local guys . Playing against like teams they have been undefeated. Good to catch up to parents and players we have not really seen except on TV since we left AAU weekends in 2006. Good action with AAU teamies now in the NBA showing up to support. Indy is a hotbed of bball. Close knit community. Odd though that you have to do metal detectors at the door. Music playing with a DJ talking the whole time. got a new nick and hashtag #whitechocolate as they have gone undefeated at this site so far. Looking to get top seed in the tourney and a chance to go meet other site winners in LA to play for the big prize and the 7500 dollar 3 pt shootout. Great to be in the gym and see Indiana kids among those still getting it done.

Music playing and a DJ talking the whole time? What is the point of that?

It s a cultural thing. Time at the park playing is almost always with a DJ and the crowd. My guess, and it is only a guess, is it comes from Rucker park and like tourneys( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ObkMefsDFs _) and has spread since the 80's but in the time we been going to the park I do not ever remember there not being a DJ and music.

The music is loud and the DJ is louder....you might just hate it.... but the action is good and the folks I see and reconnect with after being in OHIO since 2007 are a lot of fun.

As we get a little older they don't make stuff for us anymore. I think it would be distracting to the players with all that going on, but maybe that's what they like and are used to. That's one of the reasons I don't attend many sporting events these days. I can't stand the constant noise. If I want to watch a baseball game I go to the local sandlot and watch the kids play.

Boys got an all expenses paid trip to LA to In 2 weeks to play the winners of the Chicago, DC, NYC, Philly and LA tourneys.

Tommy won the 3 ball comp. Cool $7500 for his effort.

Team mopped up 65K Sunday for the win.

More than that they are the current kings of Indiana basketball proving the strength of the old North Central (Anderson, Kokomo, Marion, Muncie) Conference over the Indy centric teams that have recently displaced the industrial towns and farms that dominated Hoosier Hoops for so long.

Good luck to Tommy. Who are the sponsors that are paying the prize money?

Not sure....ESPN has a stake in it somehow. They went out to the farm and interviewed him the other day while shooting on the first basket we tacked up to the barn door. Part of the money was that the guys they wanted had to do the interviews or they forfeit their cut....Looks like that will be in a documentary to air on ESPN sept 15

Looks like the games are 7/29, 7/30 and the Championship Game on 8/1. All games appear to be at East Valley High School starting at 7pm.

Would normally be rooting for DC but they open up against Tommy so I guess I'll have to be a Chicago fan next weekend.

Won last night, play tonite at 830 PST vs LA market champs. Tommy banged in a 4 point play going into the half.

Singletary (can't) was talking smack to the DC guys and game was suspended while they got it sorted out. Chicago (with D Rose in house with his boys) bit off more than they could chew with DC

Looks like the championship will be East Coast / West Coast as Tommy's team lost by 11 to the LA team.

NYC vs LA for the championship.

Looks like there is a brouha brewing on this one. Team was ordered to take down videos of officials talking on cell phone videos how they wanted east vs west. Lots of stuff surrounding team, venues, officials and such. Team was up 8 with 3 mins left and lost as LA team went on a 20-3 run with the points coming from the FT line. 20 points from FT line in the last 3 minutes. Will be interesting to see how this new tourney withstands the appearance of impropriety.

I'm checking on my guide to schedule the DVR, and I'm not seeing it here. Anyone have a time frame they've found it in?

I missed it as they ran Indy and Philly in the opposite spots. Crap. Going to have to wait to see it when they show it again later this month.
