I'm not the biggest fan of the guy, but I really do like the idea and the approach here. Obviously roster depth like he has isn't something everyone has, but I've always been a big fan of playing 10 deep and playing as much pressure defense as possible.

Yeah

Lots of guys want to do that. Need bodies.

Groce would have loved to run that way but always ran out of bodies. Same at UI. Still does not have the horses.

never argue with idiots, they bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Winter comes and asks how you spent your summer.....

The game loves and rewards those who love and reward the game

They play a few heavy hitters in the non conf schedule but I would have to think they will be favored in every game they play this year. That roster is unreal.

The volume at which Kentucky does it makes it materially distinct.

So it's a matter of degrees (Pun Intended!) Or only matters when a program is successful? Whether occasionally, or often........

I'm honest enough to admit that my o-pinion could well differ if we were nationally prominent each year and got there by Kentucky style means.

But it seems to me that there's an imbalance...hardly any balance...in the athlete and student parts of Kentucky's student-athletes.

Most of the schools that recruit so many early draft entry players must have poor graduation rates. UK may be the worst, but I'd bet Kansas, Arizona, UNC, even Duke has seen graduation rates drop sharply. Duke seemed to resist the one-and-done recruits until more recently but they have had a lot of early draft entries lately, too.

Well, they do sent their entire roster to the NBA, so that does complicate things. If their players were always leaving the program in poor academic standing -- and I have no idea if they are or aren't -- then that should be sanctioned. Truth is, I highly doubt Kentucky hoops players do much of their own classwork.
