"I have to give it up to our guys for hanging in there and making plays." — Saul Phillips. Ohio plays again tonight, 7 pm, no TV/streaming
"This is exactly what we needed. Sure, I'd love to win every game by 40...but for not being able to play much 5-on-5 going in..."
24-sec shot clock meant 83 (ish) possessions. Bobcats had 16 turnovers. Not bad, not great. Phillips not worried about close game either
Ohio played 8 guys. Tony Campbell and Bean Willis both got some limited time despite recent knee sprains.
Forward Treg Setty (16 pts, 8 rebs) also effective in big stretches. Phillips liked way Setty tried to impact game
Freshmen Ryan Taylor (17-8 rebs) and Mike Laster (13 pts) also settled in after frantic start. Duo combined for key off. rebound late
Phillips liked Stevie Taylor's play at the point (22 points). "He was pretty dynamic." His fav thing was Taylor "making good wing plays"
His team won 80-75 over Queen's University last night in an exhibition (first of 3) in Canada. A few of his impressions...
Just checked in with Ohio MBK coach Saul Phillips via phone. Immediately joked "I'm still undefeated!"
