I have always enjoyed the Dayton situations and they are seemingly packed. How full were the Akron and Parkersburg Caravans in the past? 

 

I'd actually be able to attend if there was a CAK one. I don't get home from work until 5:30... Canton's a 15 minute drive, Cleveland is an hour or so. 

Oh well.

You know when I posted above .... I wondered if I should throw a comment about Toledo feeling left out but I thought that BG and UT may be so pervasive up there there may not be a big contingent.....now that I think of it the BG games are always well attended with alums up that way. .....why not have the Caravan up there one year?

I would add that the Cleveland one wasn't' particularly well attended last year either. My guess is less than 40 people, including our buddy Elton Alexander. It was nice in that it gave plenty of opportunity to chat with the coaches, but I was disappointed by the turnout. That said, I don't think it's well advertised here. The only way I knew about it was this site and its less than two weeks away.

 

I agree.  I like JS and I think he's doing a great job, but he could "go to the next level" if he'd listen to folks' suggestions.  He's kind of a fly-by-the-seat-of-your-own pants kind of guy.  And, since his instincts are very good in this regard he finds the best basketball coach available and has him hired in three-days flat!  But, like you, I've made numerous suggestions either directly to him or to a staffer and nothing much has come of them.  Not that all of my suggestions were necessarily super, but at least a few of them were worth investigating the feasibility of and getting back to me with feedback yeah or nay.  As a result, a few years ago I just gave up in this regard and I keep my ideas for improvements and tweaks to myself.  By contrast, TB wouldn't even listen to your suggestions, but guys like Mack and Bill Rohr would listen and sometimes act on fan suggestions.  I had positive experiences in this regard with both of these latter gentlemen.  And, I was younger and brasher back then, too!

 

I don't know the exact answer with respect to the caravans. I just know that I've attended before and I'm more engaged in Ohio athletics than 99% of all Cleveland alumni, so this thread shouldn't be the first news I got about them with the event less than two weeks away.
