To All of My Bobcat Attack Friends:

It saddens me to inform everyone that Cat4Ever, Mr. Dave Herbst, past away unexpectedly this past week. His predictions, comments, friendship and loyalty to the Bobcats and Bobcat Attack will be dearly missed.

He went in for a complicated heart surgery that was successful and he came through it very well. About 6-8 hours later, they had him sitting up in a chair in his room and he was talking to a nurse. The nurse said she would be right back as she had to check on another patient and when she came back, he was slumped over in his chair from having a major stroke. They did a Cat Scan and then an MRI the next day and found that it was not related to the heart surgery as all veins, etc. were clear and there were no blood clots found to have entered the brain. So, it was just coincidental they think as they did not do an autopsy. They said he would never recover and would be pretty much in a vegetative state. So, the family decided to take him off of life support.

He had just retired from Disney and Disney staff threw him a big retirement party that was all Bobcat decorations. He received a signed  basketball from Groce and a signed football from Solich, plus several other wonderful Bobcat collectables including an 7-8 ft. inflatable Rufus that they had inflated in the banquet hall.  We put it up in his yard the day of the Penn State Game and boy was he proud of it! He could not wait to show people all of the Bobcat collectables he had received and tell the story of how Disney gave him an unannounced retirement party based on OU as one of his colleagues also graduated for Ohio and planned everything.

A tremendous Bobcat fan!  R.I.P. my friend! You will be dearly missed!

The obituary is on another thread (I do not know how to bring it over here to this one but it would be nice if someone could). Before the bowling green game at gman's tailgate, we had a moment of silence. I asked folks there to go to the above mentioned thread to read about Dave. As we talked about him, several folks remembered him stopping by and enjoying the comradeship of sharing food and football enthusiasm.
