They moved to Athens this year.

An overhyped team plays well early in the year, punching above their weight. Said team gets national attention. Its coach and stars players are feted in the press. The team beats a pack of lousy MAC team and they get tabbed as the best in the league. Many of the team's fans think they've outgrown the measly MAC... even though the team has yet to beat anyone in the league with a winning record. They lose in November when things get harder and really matter. They don't even make the championship game for their division.

Sounds eerily familiar. The Ohio Owls?

Athens isn't a city that idolizes a white fictional boxer when an African American legendary boxer was from our town.

Yeah, I've only been doing that on the MAC board.  Not any team sites.  

FWIW, I miss Temple.  They turned into a nice rivalry, partly because of their fanbase.
