Looks like the Big East may be in a bit of trouble with key teams like Pitt, WVU, Rutgers, Cuse all leaving.  Boise and BYU possibly changing their minds and U of L and UC coming up on ACC's radar...

Could this be the beginning of the end of the Big East which begs the question.. Where will Temple end up if this were all to go down..

Big East is fine.. SD STate and Boise have all committed again to the Big East and still looking for a 14th team.. hopefully BYU.

You have to remember that it's all about TV markets. Temple will be fine..

This can't be a long term solution for Boise or SD State.

I believe you will see U of L and UC as well as UConn being courted by either ACC or the Big 12.  I'm also not convinced Boise and SD State will come.

This is going to be an interesting story line to follow over the next few months.

LOL and Rutgers and Maryland declared their undying loyalty to the Big East and ACC, respectively, last year.
Boise State, SDSU, BYU, Cincinnati, Louisville, and UCONN are looking for new homes. None of them want to be in the Big East, which will only have 4 teams (UCONN, Temple, USF, UCF) east of the Applachaians  once Rutgers leaves. I've no doubt that Temple will land in a conference, I'm just wondering if its going to be CUSA or the SunBelt or the eastern division of the BigMountain conference (the new name of the Big East once the rest of the conference realizes that their center of gravity lies out west)

Rutgers and Louisville and UCONN have been begging to get out for years.

Don't worry about Temple.. we'll be fine

Yeah, BYU is going to give up $4 million from ESPN to join your Frankenconference.

Not to offend, but who cares?  I find this messageboard's preoccupation with Temple fascinating.  Marshall I understand; there's a history, a rivalry.  I hate those guys and they hate Ohio.  But Temple?  Other than a couple a couple of years of really good football games against each other, we really don't have a shared history with them.  I don't really care where Temple ends up, and I doubt they care where we end up.  Fine with me......

Exactly.  Last year, most students and a goodly number of alumni didn't know where Temple is or that they were even in the MAC.  And I'm sure that when some saw "at Temple" on the schedule, they were disappointed that there wouldn't be a game that weekend but were glad that they team found time for religion.  They've moved on.  We should too.

Good, old-fashioned hate. I hate Temple. They provided a different type of drama, which is something that fired me up for every single game we played against them.  Would I love to see them in a conference with us?  Sure thing.  Will it happen?  Probably not in the foreseeable future.
