It hit a new level for me today. I never miss Ohio games at home and load up the family and travel to every meaningful road game. After the Miami trip, I became emotionless about this team. I skipped the Ball State trip, but today I hit a new low. I didn't even watch the game. I decided to play golf with my friends today and planned to watch the game when I got home. Now I doubt I'll even watch the game. I'll be back next season fired up, but the way this season ended was just a sad state of affairs. I'm glad it's over.

Sadly enough. I agree. Your attitude towards the game is how the team has played. its justified.

The problem for me is my golf game leads to the same horrible feelings and frustrations as Ohio football.  I step up to the first tee with positive expectations. My club selection is about as bad as Albin's play selections, I scramble around the woods looking for lost balls and  my short game is like our special teams.  I then start to drink beer and tell myself never again but come back again  the next week for more punishment.

I woke up at about 10:45, watched the first drive (fumble) and turned it off.

When's Richmond getting here?

What you missed today was an excellent effort by the defense.  They held Durham to 97 yds and Archer to 52.  After last week, I expected another New Orleans Bowl.  But the defense looked maybe better than it has all year.

D was getting it pretty well done.  Kicking game was better.  Offensive scoring drives ending up in field goals or turnovers and Kent points dug a hole.

We gave Kent 14 pts today. Beyond that the Defense played them very, very tough. Tyler's playing hurt, Foster's playing hurt, we have to run the wheels off Beau and Frank needed to buy a program for even him to figure out who was left healthy enough to play on the Oline.

It was a year that we just got incredibibly unlucky with an unbelievable amount of crushing injuries. We lost starting DB's, TE, WR's score upon score of O and D linemen and a few safties that even the deepest most talented program would have a difficult time overcoming.

I was there today. I did not sense that there was a lack of effort. A lack of abled body personnel yes. A lack of effort by those pressed into service. NO!

Think Kyle Snyder regrets transferring?   Who knows, had he stayed perhaps Coach Solich would have felt more free to sit Tettleton and put in Snyder for a couple of games.  I think Snyder would have seen more playing time than we may think, because I'm with those in the camp that think that Tettleton's a lot more hurt than anyone's letting on.

The defense played reasonably well today, especially given the injuries we've had.

But a factor in that absolutely has to be kents's really, really--really--bad passing attack.  If kents plays like that in the title game, NIU will destroy them.

We've made too many okay running backs looks special this year.

Losing bad.  Playing with no passion and totally passively is unacceptable.

+1

Totally agree.  This was an excellent defensive effort by what was a patched up defense with many starters missing.  We were a pick-six and a fumble-six from making this a game.  If you want blame someone blame me.  It was 21-0 before the sports bar in Portland opened its doors and I could get them to turn on ESPNU.

Venham was very good in the first half. As good as he was in the first, he was that bad in the second.

Uhh, I think the wind had to do with his good stats in 1st half and weak numbers in 2nd half.

Once again, 695, it came down to your unnecessary walking up and down the sideline in front of the students during the BG game that jinxed Ohio. Happy?

Were you there?  He shanked three straight punts in the second half.

This is the true definition of a fair weather fan...   I guess you'll probably jump on the O$U wagon now.     I bet you've already been to wallmart to pick up all your Buckeye clothes...

No doubt this team needs some changes..  I suspect it will happen during the off season.   But to give up on a team that you thought so highly of 5 weeks ago is just ashame...  No one on that team has given up that's for sure.

While the Bobcats did not get the win I was happy to see players that were hurt trying to play until they just could not play anymore.

This team is capable of big things... We've seen it.. Heck we've all bragged about it.

If you've given up on the coaches then that's one thing.  But don't give up on the players.   I assure you they want to win.

I'm pretty sure I'm the farthest thing from a fair weather Ohio fan.  My record as a fan (attendance and support) has to be top 5% of those that call themselves fans.  I never said a thing about the team's effort.

And BTW, instead of going to "wallmart" or watching football Saturday, I dropped everything and drove the family to the Convo (as I do every single game) to be with about 2,000 others to cheer on the basketball team.

That would be for one quarter of each half and it wasn't three good ones in same direction.

Sorry, I never said I was satisfied with the kicking.  Better is a relative term that begs the question, “Better than what?”  I remember asking myself during the game, “WTH were these kicks (56, 52, and 68 yards) at the BG game?” (At this point, I really don’t want an answer).    4 kicks landed inside the 20.  The other kicks were 35, 41, 23, 39, 35, and 21 yards.  That’s about 6 too many.  These latter numbers brought things back down but even a shank is better, better than nothing.  I left that part out.
