Louisville to the ACC!

Yahoo Sports' Pat Forde is reporting that the ACC President's this morning have chosen Louisville as the prettiest of the Ugly Sisters to replace departing Maryland. Louisville got the nod over previous favorite UConn due to the mess that Calhoun left the Huskies BBall program in. Cincinnati was passed over as well (for now at least).

Thought sure UC and U of L would go together based on their long association. Guess that association, like so many others nowadays, is gone by the way side...for now.

The articles in the papers out here make it sound like the ACC was only looking for 1 team to replace Maryland.
They said that the ACC was considering Louiville,U Conn and Cincy and that they chose Louiville.

They also talk about the irony that neither of the teams playing the quasi Big East championship game tonight willl be there after next year,or sooner.

Not a bad trade for the ACC. Better basketball and equal or better football.

Hopefully the Bocats can knock off an ACC school next year then.

Has OU ever beaten an ACC school in Football?

Basketball yes, but I don't remember a Football game.

In terms of current ACC schools, Ohio has wins over Maryland (1997) and BC (1966). Obviously, BC wasn't in the ACC at the time.

Ohio is 2-2 all-time against Louisville:
1956 - Loss 25-19
1957 - Loss 40-7
1958 - Win 23-6
1959 - Win 22-15
