We are now playing a BCS bowl participant (and Big East Conf. champ) in our first game next year...and maybe a BCS bowl participant in conference...

We are long overdue to host Western Michigan. I would guess we travel to Northern Illinois with a slight possibility of going to Toledo.

Will Charlie Strong still be the coach at Louisville when Ohio plays them?

One of college basketball greatest scorers was Fly Williams (Columbus East HS) at Austin Peay. The combination of player and college lend itself to college basketball's greatest cheer: "The Fly is open. Let's go Peay!"

Hope we can play either NIU or Toledo next season.  Louisville sure will be an interesting game.

Fly didn't go to Columbus East. Maybe the Tiger you are thinking of is Bo Lamar?

ABA Fly Williams? If so, I think he's from New York.

OUr OOC schedule next year is @Lville and then 3 at home- N Texas, Marshall, Austin Peay. No reason why we can't get off to another fast start next year.

Here's our MAC West cross over matches for the last 6 years-

EMU- 2012, @2010, 2007
CMU- @2011, 2008
WMU- @2008
NIU- 2009
BSU- @2012, 2011, @2009
Tole- 2010, @2007

Based on this we should have played NIU and @WMU this year so I'll guess that these are our crossover games in 2013.

If so, our 2013 home schedule will be-
North Texas
Marshall
Austin Peay
NIU
Kent State
Miami
UMass

Away will be-
@ Lville
@ WMU
@ BGSU
@ Buffalo
@ Akron

wouldn't be surprised to see 4 November MACtion games as NIU, Kent, @WMU, @BGSU.

lot of key players back next year, hope we can make a run.

Do y'all know the date of the North Texas game in 2013 ?  I'm thinking either Sept 7 or Sept 14, since NT hosts Idaho Aug 31 and are @ Georgia Sept 21 (2 trips to Athens, LOL).

Good luck in the I-Bowl, ULM is a fun team to play against.  They run spread with lots of zone-read on offense and use a somewhat unusual 3-3-5 (the so-called 3-3 stack) as their base defense.

That should sell some home ticket packages, especially considering seven home contests.  Plus two BCS opponents and two other bowl participants should be a stout test and assuage the "sisters of the poor" schedule naysayers.

The Few, The Proud, The Bobcats!

And for the record, I hate tOSU, and Ricordati and Torgerson are DB's.

Is it some sort of guarantee that we play the 6 other East teams?  I don't recall ever playing more than 2 West teams in the regular season, so I'd think that we are due.

Rooting for Akron is like cheering on the Taliban.

Ouch!  Was it really necessary to list the results, too, Ted?

We lost to I-AA Northeastern (who got rid of their football team shortly thereafter because they weren't competitive) my sophomore year (2002) AT HOME 31-0
