I was poking around herd nation today in anticipation of next week's basketball game when I ran across this thread devoted to Ohio football.  Some of the comments made by the terd fans are, let's just say, a little opinionated and not very factual.

and another related to the STO merger with FOX sports

Come on Marshall fans, just admit you miss your days in the MAC and move on.

I read those threads too and they're hilarious. I don't think the majority of Marshall fans feel that way but many of the people on Herd Nation are crazy........like most message boards.

I just find it funny they're dissing Ohio and saying we're going to fall back to our old ways and that Frank Solich isn't as good as advertised while forgetting how awful they have been for the past 8 years.

Sure we haven't won a conference championship in football during Solich's time here and our tv contract with STO is going to end BUT, I'd still take our situation over there's any day.

Solich is 36-18 his last four years at Ohio with 2 bowl wins. I'd take that in a second over what Doc Holliday is doing at Marshall. Also funny how they make fun of the MAC's tv contract when they play on a channel that the majority of people across the country don't even have (CBS Sports Net)

The MAC at least gets our product on ESPN, will get our secondary tv deal straightened up eventually and is a stable conference. But go ahead Marshall fans. Continue to look down upon Ohio and the MAC despite the fact that you're school has displayed a below average football program since leaving the MAC while displaying one of the biggest underachieving basketball programs in the country the last two years.

Also, I'm sure Marshall fans are pumped about future conference games versus Old Dominion, UNC Charlotte, UTSA and North Texas in the upcoming future. Sounds like an amazing football conference.....

I find it amusing that a thread about the thin skins of Herd fan is immediately next to the thread expressing umbrage at a Lou Holtz anecdote about the distance from Athens, Ohio, to greater civilization.
