Around the ball all day.

To those who say these games don't matter, we shouldn't have gone to a bowl game because of the 1-4 finish, ask Tremayne if this game mattered.

Huge difference maker today.   Obviously too bad  he was injured this year, might have made a big difference in second half of season.   Seems like a good guy and like almost all of the Bobcats, a great representative of the school.   Very happy for this team to finish the year with this win, showed a lot of character to bounce back after a dismal November.   Go Bobcats!

T SCOTT shows the strong need for power and speed at your d-end.  WIth it, much good happens.

He should be voted our most valuable defensive player this season.  Not player of the year, but most valuable -- he shows how valuable he is when he's in the game, and when he's not in the game we know how valuable he is by the void created by his absence.  He had a monster game today.  Don't know if he was the game's MVP, but he deserved the "Player of the Game" honor ESPN gave him.

Keith Moore was named Defensive MVP.

Tettleton and Blankenship were Offensive Co-MVPs.

One of the most impactful performances ever by a Bobcat d-lineman?

Tremayne Scott didn't give BG short field all day on punt breakdowns, he didn't take a sack against Miami with no timeouts left when going for the win....
Don't think anyone said injuries didn't play a part of it, but injuries weren't the sole reason they went 1-4 down the stretch either. Thanks for playing.

Without the injuries those games don't play out the same way. Once a game is close, the chance of bad things happening increases significantly.

This team was by far a top 10 team before the injuries. EASY. Omar Leftwich,Travis Carrie,X Hughes,GMoore all had major injuries some came back some did not but that secondary was trashed and the young players stepped up HUGE. 14 players most starters lost to season ending injuries affected every aspect of the game. Salute to the players that stuck it out and sucked it up to have a very successful season!

Great for him he could end his career with such a good game. Loved the interception, especially since we kept the ball.

I am watching the game again at home because I couldn't here the commentary in the bar yesterday. Scott was awesome and the defense was just laying some wood to people. Man I wish we had this core for the last 5 games of the season.

One question was answered for me...TT was playing hurt most of the season. Had to be. This is the TT that teams cannot handle.

No doubt about that.  It was so d%$# frustrating watching him struggle and reading all those posts about his "bad attitude".  This sets up TT for some pre-season love next year IMHO.

Except they were digging themselves early holes in each of those games and the defense had little chance to be successful. So while it would have been nice, hard to say the big reason they lost was because of injury.

I think that without a doubt, without the injuries the U.Mass, Buffalo, and Akron games are not close. I think Ohio pulls away from Miami and it's never close. BG is a tougher call because of the special teams disaster, but I think that other than the special teams problems Ohio would have won that game even with the injuries, and that had they not had the injuries, they might have won even with the special teams issues. Ball State was a clear case where a thin, tired, hurt Bobcat team just ran out of gas. The one game that fits well with your description was the Kent game, where Kent scored early with 14 defensive points, of a pick-six and a fumble return for a TD. Those are tough to overcome, and even a healthy Bobcat team might have lost that one.

Thus, without the injuries, I think there would have been two tough games, BG and Kent. I don't know that Ohio goes undefeated, but it isn't impossible.

Named to the CBS All-Bowl Team:

"DL: Tremayne Scott, Ohio: Scott was a big reason that Ohio defeated Louisiana-Monroe in the Independence Bowl, recording five tackles, two for a loss, two sacks and an interception. Scott and the rest of the defense held the Warhawks to just 95 yards rushing"

I'd just have to say thats just outstanding. Every other player was either from SEC, PAC 12, or Big East. Nice to see attention for our players. Does anyone know if he's been invited to the Combine?

Looks like others noticed Tremayne as well during the bowl game:

"Scott was a big reason that Ohio defeated Louisiana-Monroe in the Independence Bowl"

He now joins other stars like: Manziel, Clowney, Lacy and Okafor on the CBSSports 2012-2013 All-Bowl Team.

That's great - because he did not get mentioned in a similiar, but shorter list (only a handful of Off/Def players, not a full roster of both) of impact bowl players in the SI that came today.
