I had an unexpected run in today in the Wal-Mart in Georgetown, KY - Jim Schaus.

I saw him and thought it looked an awful lot like him, but thought surely not. Well, I had on an OU football shirt and as I walked past he said "Go Bobcats" and told me he lived in Athens.

I told him I recognized him. He was there with his wife and daughter, and told me his daughter lives in Lexington. I can only assume she goes to UK.

We talked for a minute, and I told him to keep up the good work - a very nice guy.

You just never know who you'll run into...

He has a daughter who goes (went?) to Morehead State.

People who say there's nothing to do in Athens should take a visit to Morehead, KY.

You are an absolute genius for wearing OHIO gear.

I was walking the dogs yesterday in Oxnard, CA  (Seabridge right by the coast) while wearing my OHIO FOOTBALL hoodie and the male of a couple I passed made a remark about 'the other Ohio,' obviously acknowledging the inferior school in columbus.  We talked for a moment.  It was nice to meet someone even 2500 miles from Athens who knows the deal.

Reminds me of a series of commercials Bank One did in Arizona with popular Arizona coach Lute Olson and second-fiddle ASU coach Bill Frieder. Scroll to the 2:20 mark to see the commercial at the store.
