Yes, it starts at 12:00 before the game at 2:00. But if previous years are any indication, you'll want to get there as early as possible. The good stuff goes quickly!!!!

So...if the spring sale starts at noon, we should aim to be there at...10? Is that too early?

I've never been to the Spring Sale before, what's the price range I can expect?  I'm looking at football jerseys, gloves, duffel bags, stuff like that.

Do OBC members get in early or is that just the way this works? I feel like I was there an hour or so early last year and the line was crazy.

I went the past two years and was astonished at how cheap the prices are. I got game football and basketball jerseys (including Ivo's jersey from the 2010 tournament, complete with the NCAA patch) for $15 each. A brand new HUGE duffel bag for $10. A brand new football, still in the bag, with Attach Cat logo for $5. New WR gloves for $5. New, in-box, Nike basketball shoes for $20 or $25. A new, with tags, baseball dugout jacket for $10 or $15.

They could have honestly charged me double for everything and I'd still buy it all.

I would love to get some gear at this event but the commute to Athens is a bit far.  If someone is going perhaps we could set up a trade or perhaps I send some straight cash.  I went to the one in 2001 and it was crazy.  I remember a kid got a TRENT jersey for like $20.  I was really poor so I didn't go to crazy and somehow my now ex got my basketball warm up pants.  I remember there were selling stuff that had to be 30 years old.  It was amazing.  In my honest opinion, I think the athletic department needs to space these things out then every year or every other year.

Anyways if someone would like to help me out PM me and we can work together.

Is this sale cash only?  No big deal if it is, just need to know if I should hit up the atm before I go.

It's pretty cheap...probably nothing more than $20 for the most part. I think newer/nicer jerseys are either $20 or $15...bags probably more like $10. Crazy how cheap things are...

The past two years, they had a credit card reader, so it's not cash only. I'm sure they prefer cash though, and you will get out quicker than waiting in line for credit card transactions to process

Just got back from the athletic sale.

I was able to obtain some good stuff......but it was the largest athletic sale in regards to fans and it just didn't work well.  Was about # 30 in line but it didn't matter.....some came in a back door and #30 ended up with the same chance as #130.

The venue must change.  The area they mark off is just too small for the large amount of people.

Again thanks to all the athletic staff for your hard work and efforts.....it's not your fault that the crowd is too big and the space too small.

I thought the opposite, actually. For the first time, they didn't open the gates before what was advertised. Sure, the line was long...but we all had a fair shot at getting the items. I was probably around 20th in line and didn't see anyone sneaking in early. It is a small space...but I'm not sure if there's a better area to do it at a stadium built in 1929...

Just happened that we arrived 45 minutes early due to soccer game ending early and within moments of getting in line, the line swelled to out into the road and around the corner several hundred feet  (not sure name of road, but road that you turn off of to get into Peden Parking Lot.) Once the gates opened I must admit that with a family that included three children 8 and under, it was a bit scary.  Not to overstate it, but it was a recipe for disaster.  At the very least a younger child or elderly could have fallen and if pepole wouldn't have behaved as well as they did, it could have easily caused altercations (pushing, shoving, aggressive behavior).  I mean it was as tight as a busy subway, during rush hour in a huge city.  You were chest to chest with everyone.  Not an inch to spare.

If this event is to continue and if the turnout is a large as it was today (note:  this was by first time attending, so I'm not sure if today was the norm) the organizers must re-think the entire event.  Not sure how or where, but the venue needs to be a minimum of 5-10x larger and it would help if things were taken out of boxes and layed out for people to see.  Digging through boxes was 99% of the holdup, in addition to the space being entirely too small for the number of people.

A memorable, but certainly not an enjoyable event.

Not sure why they have to put everything in a 25 yard area and throw hundreds in that same spot. Split it up. Make a right to shoes and equipment. Make a left to apparel. At one point I saw somebody crawl under the tables. I love this event and in the past have hauled home a bevy of stuff. This year I was glad to just get out of line.
How about OBC Members get in 30 minutes early and then you get rid of that amount of people.
Again I love this event but it could be better. Good to hear there were so many season ticket packages sold during the game.

Why would OBC members get in 30 minutes before everyone? Then there would be no point going, as all of the good stuff would be taken.

Then donate $50 and you could get in early too.

It would be a nice benefit to those who are OBC members.

Just throwing out ideas Cleveland. The possibility of being trampled in that place yesterday turned me off a bit.

I think it's a great idea VC.  It's a no cost perk of financially supporting OU athletics.  If you wanted to take it to extremes, you could have people get in line based on giving level.  Seriously though, as SBH has so often said, put your money where your mouth is when it comes to supporting OU athletics.

Some people pay good money for that.
